Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Sheila McGregor have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Hi there kindly leave the links as Wikipedia is asking us to insert more external links. Why are you removing them? I'd be interested to see the justification, and am open to persuasion. Howoever it's rather frustrating when Wikipedia is asking us for more corroboration of her life's work. She is now too old to do this herself. So kindly restore what you deleted unless there's a really good reason? Thanks Tacyarg. We are not advertising -there are no other external links to the books besides those used. Thanks again. 2A02:A453:D48A:1:B05C:1E55:F216:9BC7 (talk) 12:58, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Sheila McGregor. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Please don't add Amazon links, or unsourced information. If I cannot add amazon links but we published the book ourselves through amazono kindle, what other links can I add to verify that these books exist? Should I add other booksellers besides Amazon or are those also not acceptable? We don't have an independent website set up. Maybe your comment means we should set one up. right now I can't but thanks for the comments - will address this. Can you leave the links for now!? I am a Wikipedia contributor! Hi, thank you for your message on my Talk page. It sounds as if you have a connexion to Sheila McGregor. In that case, you should not edit the article about her directly. You can add edit requests to the article's Talk page. I will post the guidance about conflict of interest below, which explains this. See WP:ELNO for the guidance about unacceptable external links.
