Coral Bell
editFollowing our discussion a the Teahouse, I have now created Draft:Coral Bell. There's a long way to go before this is ready for submission (especially the section on the impact of her work) but feel free to chip in! Thanks for suggesting this: I've found it very interesting to research her and this is made easy as all the key references are online and accessible. See Google books, where you can download the whole thing. Mike Turnbull (talk)
- That is wonderful to hear, @Mike Turnbull. I'm so glad I asked at the Teahouse, and just happened to post at a time when a receptive editor was around. You've really done a great job on it so far, too. It's shaping up very nicely. I tinker around the edges, but I think a sustained piece from scratch would have been beyond me, to be honest, so I am very pleased you found it worthwhile to take on. I may just take up your suggestion to chip in. Cheers! 49.177.69.7 (talk) 10:25, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- Article was accepted into Main Space today.... Now need to think of a DYK, perhaps based on the quote from Kissinger. Mike Turnbull (talk) 17:43, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- On the DYK section of the Main page today! Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:31, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply on my Talk Page. No need to swap "Mike" for "Michael": although my log-on name uses Michael (because that's how I've published elsewhere), everyone IRL calls me Mike and that's the form I use in my signature! I'll answer to anything polite ;-) Mike Turnbull (talk) 15:39, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Rao Bahadur edit: Sorry me no sorries, but me no buts
editI would really appreciate it, if, when you see something that needs adjusting, you just did it without involving or commenting on any intervening edit of mine, which has nothing to do the the original faulty edit. My contribution may not have followed the best procedure, or whatever, but was solely to do with what I feel comfortable doing as both a new, and an IP, editor. (And, so, you know, I don't attract negative attention or unintentionally offend someone!).
I cannot help but feel such edits / edit summaries are less to do with improvement of article quality, and more to do with demonstrating the faultiness of an IP editor's contribution. You may notice, that emboldened by your example of ruthless removal, I took out another unattested entry from the list. That one has been there a long time, and I note your edit did not extend to weeding out any other such names. This informs my - possibly unfair, I admit - view of the motivations involved. 49.177.69.7 (talk) 01:16, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oops, sorry. Thank you for noticing those extra entries in need of removal; I hope you weren't upset. DS (talk) 04:47, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
