Thank you for your contributions to Back to Basics (Christina Aguilera album). Some edits have been made to the article in order to bring it into harmony with Wikipedia's Manual of Style. Your recent contribution(s) to Wikipedia are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? You can use a citation method listed at inline citations that best suits each article. Thanks!

Re: Britney Spears discography

edit

It doesn't appear that there's been any attempt to discuss this issue on the talk pages, and because of this I'm hesitant about protecting the article. I have reverted it to the version you say is accurate, though. Extraordinary Machine 21:02, 30 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Christina Aguilera discography

edit

It is vandalism!, because of her web site "says" that Christina Aguilera has sold over 25 million [no Back to Basics] (it's more logical 12.5+9.5+2.2+3) not 36 million (16+12+5+3). Kraft. 18:23, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Do not change Christina Aguilera discography any more! I think you even haven't read the real sources and obviously the last message that I sent you... please see: talk:Christina Aguilera discography.Kraft. 22:14, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

WARNING

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Coloratura, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you.

You deleted several significant edits to the page and replaced it with unsubstatiated edits. Nowhere in any of the sources you cited did it say anything about coloratura. Additionally your edit pattern is notoriously similar to a sockpuppet's that has been banned. If you continue to vandalise the article I will report you to Administrator intervention against vandalism and the sockpuppet notice board. You do realise just having a similar location to one or more editors with an almost identical editing pattern will most probably lead to a block for you, yes? --I'll bring the food 23:32, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

My Deepest Apologies

I would like to deeply apologize for incorrectly reverting your edits... I've been on a revert storm this evening and simply overlooked the edit (I was confused because Pocahontas was released in 1995...) Again, my apologies. Moogle10000 03:02, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Calm down

edit

I am glad you see how irritating it is to have to constantly fight a never ending war with anonymous editors as I have had to for over 6 months, but there is no point in getting stressed over it, the user is more than likely feeding off it.--I'll bring the food (Talk - Contribs - My Watchlist) 21:25, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Marvel Girl.PNG.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Marvel Girl.PNG.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Dear 5 octaves, hello and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate you coming here to contribute, however your recent edits to Jean Grey have not helped the encyclopedia and have now been removed. Leona Lewis' voice type

edit

I'd like to know why you think that Lewis is not a coloratura. Wiki edit Jonny (talk) 11:45, 7 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

She doesn't do trills, runs, and embellishes, or agile vocal inflections, she is not that comfortable in her soprano range, though she can hit it. You must not only have the range, but also the agility and there is no source that states she is coloratura.

License tagging for Image:Whitbig.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Whitbig.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:15, 12 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Whitney Houston page

edit

Look here buddy, Whitney Houston IS a MEZZO-SOPRANO. I have a good source saying she is. And thanks oh so very much for calling me an idiot. That is the pot calling the kettle black. Leave the page alone!! Sheesh :\ Tribal44 (talk) 17:27, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Tribal44Reply

Like whom? The admin? Whitney is a mezzo-soprano and thats that. Tribal44 (talk) 20:48, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Tribal44Reply

Then go away, jerk. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tribal44 (talkcontribs) 20:56, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

How you YOU finding a source on her being a mezzo, huh? Since you are so good on finding sources.

Maybe you don't want to admit she's REALLY a mezzo. Tribal44 (talk) 21:03, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Tribal44Reply

How am I vandalizing?

And, I posted both of the vocal types. Happy now? Tribal44 (talk) 21:21, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Tribal44Reply

Now who's looking like an idiot? Posting copyright pictures and posting fansites as references. I was right all along. Karma comes back in full force. Tribal44 (talk) 01:56, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Tribal44Reply

You were never right. I still have many encyclopediaic sources siting Whitney as a soprano. And for your info, that picture WAS MY OWN. I got it from an an old magazine and I scanned it on my computer and I cleaned it up. Thank you. And that "fansite" reference had a very reliable NEWSPAPER reference for Whitney's soprano. 5 octaves (talk) 20:59, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

You didn't take the picture, so technically its not really your work. And fansites are not reliable sources. You just won't accept the the fact she is a mezzo so that is why you have to be so anal about it. You are wrong again. Tribal44 (talk) 00:13, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Tribal44Reply

Fansites are reliable sources when they get their sources from reliable sources. Whitney is probably a mezzo NOW, but in her prime, she was not.5 octaves (talk) 02:35, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I take it this is still ongoing? I see there has been little discussion about this on the talk page between you and User:Tribal44. There does seem to be a bit of edit warring and both of you have already broken 3RR and the name calling in the edit summaries and on each other's talk pages....not good. I've opened up a dialog on the the talk page. I suggest the both of you discuss the changes there instead of edit warring before I get the page protected. Image permission problem with Image:Cache 269521406.jpg

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Cache 269521406.jpg. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alro (talk) 23:10, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to speedily delete Image:Whitney Houston photoshoot 1990's-The Voice.jpg due to what I consider blatant copyright infringement. The image isn't your own work unless you took it with your won camera and have all legal rights to it; simply uploading it does not mean you own it. If you do own the legal rights to it, then you need to email me separately and show me proof. Orane (talk) 07:23, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the Legacy section, shouldn't the use of the term "Black" be capitalized due to the fact that it is referring to ethnicity? For example, the article Black people does this.

All in all, though, whichever form is the best way to Wikipedia, it should be consistent throughout the article (of course) wherever it is noted/mentioned. Flyer22 (talk) 01:53, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ah, I see that the article Black people (from what I glanced of it) only capitalizes Black in referring to Black Africa in the In the sub-Saharan Africa section. Flyer22 (talk) 02:01, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

As one of the largest contributor to this article, I wanted to let you know that the article is currently up for deletion. Ikip (talk) 19:51, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (File:I Look to You.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:I Look to You.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 22:01, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
