What's wrong with Friedrich Bertram Sixt von Armin and Armin? Keith-264 (talk) 13:26, 20 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding "Bertram", that was his middle name. It was part of an earlier name for the article ("Friedrich Bertram Sixt von Armin") which had been changed later to "Friedrich Sixt von Armin" in accordance with the basic first name/last name rule. I just fixed all the pages that had redirects from "Friedrich Bertram" to "Friedrich".
Regarding the surname, his family name is the compound name "Sixt von Armin", not merely "Armin". So references to him by surname should be to "Sixt von Armin". The name is similarly alphabetized under "S", not "A".
Compounds like this are pretty common among German noble houses. Similar compound surnames include Arnauld de la Perière, Auer von Herrenkirchen, Bock von Wülfingen, Bronsart von Schellendorff, Chales de Beaulieu, Digeon von Monteton, Gandenberger von Moisy, Herwarth von Bittenfeld, Kalau vom Hofe, de L'Homme de Courbière, Mackensen von Astfeld, Ostmann von der Leye, Treusch von Buttlar-Brandenfels and Yorck von Wartenburg. 65.216.227.119 (talk) 09:07, 21 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
