AfD page nomination

edit

I'm aware of the AfD process - no predefined time-frame allotted for completion of said process. Due diligence being done on my end with research. Your revert of the AfD tag did not reasonably appear to be a good-faith revert, particularly as the comment left on this talk page was posted 54 minutes prior to the tag revert. 66.185.168.19 (talk) 02:05, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

That's technically true, but it's messy and confusing to have a hanging AfD1 tag on the page that doesn't lead anywhere and that may or may not be completed (at the time he removed it, we had no sense of whether you'd be back to finish things, and people not infrequently abandon this process in the middle of it, for any number of reasons). If you're doing some research of the WP:BEFORE type on the subject, or learning the AfD process (which requires assistance if you are staying an IP), the way you're encouraged to go through the procedure is to decide whether you are quite sure you are going to go through with the nomination first, then complete the three-step process in short sequence, to minimize the amount of limbo time. I'm taking the stale tag down again; you are welcome to restore it when you are sure you will be finishing it. However, please note that with the additional information and sourcing that's been added since you added your tag, I believe it is quite likely the article will be kept as meeting WP:MUSIC, and will be arguing so myself if and when the discussion to delete commences. A quick question on this talk page could have served to get a little clarity on intention rather than a quick revert. One should not assert without just cause that an editor may or may not complete a process as it is speculative. Wiki guidelines are just that... guidelines. An editor is not bound to a specific path if they are following the deletion process correctly even if another editor prefers something more streamlined - the process is being followed correctly in this case. Preliminary research was done prior to the deletion tag including referencing a prior page of the "same" name that had been deleted and cited A7 as the reason. Discussion is taking place as it should, however the removal of the AfD tag is inappropriate at this venture. Consensus must determine the removal or retention of an article. Circumventing the discussion process by removing the tag impedes the discussion process. 66.185.168.19 (talk) 05:40, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have not followed the appropriate steps at WP:AFDHOWTO, and your position that there is no "time limit" on completing the process is silly. I will remove the tag from the article. You're welcome to AfD it as long as you do it properly and within a reasonable amount of time, say maximum 15 minutes. If not, I'll either block you or semi-protect the article to prevent further disruption.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:36, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Let me expand on Bbb23's comments by repeating what I said at Talk:Sheléa: I reviewed the deleted versions of Shelea. They contained no references whatsoever, and the only assertion of significance was an unreleased (as of 2013) album. This version of the article no longer qualifies for deletion under CSD A7. The IP user, or any other user wishing to nominate the article under the AfD process, would need to advance a reason why this article should not exist—and that probably would need to address whether the subject is notable. —C.Fred (talk) 15:47, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
