San Candido

edit

There is a consensus to use the German name of a city whose population is roughly 85% German. Regardless of the WP:Official name given by the Italian government, this Wikipedia is hosted in the United States and we don't follow such standards. San Candido is still redirecting to a page named Innichen. Replacing it will not solve anything and it will cause readers to start changing it back to Innichen because that is the actual name of the article. So, if things are not broken, then don't fix them. Well, if you "feel" consensum trumps reality and sovereignty what can i say? Good for you for creating an alternative world. Better catch up with all the demographic of cities. Imagine that... some cities in the middle of US or Spain now can change name based on ethnic motivation, not to mention all Wales cities suddenly changed into gaelic names. Wikipedia is truly a wonderful site! I won't change it back again since you clarified the (ir)rationale about that. Well, i tried to tell the truth then consensum went its own way. But i tried. @Tbhotch:79.33.101.118 (talk) 22:12, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
