Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I think you should know that your recent edits to video game pages aren't in the spirit of Wikipedia, and could be interpreted as poor manners and at worst disruptive edits. Adding a non-existent fairly niche category is not something to be done in a vacuum. If you wish to bring this up, please discuss this on the page Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games, so more users can weigh in on this issue. EDIT: I would add that despite there also being a category there, your edits to EA Sports UFC 4 are a positive contribution, if unpolished. I'd advise both looking through the Video Game WikiProject and this page so you have a better idea about what is expected and accepted. --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:59, 18 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 81.178.201.75, has made edits to the page Tyrrell 005 which do not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not already been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you did not make this change, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors. Logging in is not mandatory to read or edit pages on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free, requires no personal information, and has many benefits. Without a username, your IP address is used to identify you.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have!

Hello, I'm Binksternet. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, MTV Unplugged in New York, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 17:21, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello 81.178.201.75, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Album era have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 15:38, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Binksternet beat me to the revert at Album era, but I thought I'd share the comment I composed to accompany the edit, anyway:
we can't use non-free content like an LP cover to merely illustrate an article, the text has to state the image's significance in relation to the subject; any one of the Beatles' covers from Rubber Soul to Pepper might be candidates (because there's plenty of coverage on how those covers furthered the idea of An Album), but I suggest it should be avoided
I imagine that's been stated above, but perhaps not, and perhaps it helps. JG66 (talk) 15:48, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Money (That's What I Want). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 15:19, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Radon transform. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. jp×g 20:21, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Fantastic Dizzy, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you.   Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Money (That's What I Want), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Nothing has changed since you last added this and were warned for doing so. Please read WP: SONGCOVER. Egghead06 (talk) 14:11, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Ben (song), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. CycloneYoris talk! 01:14, 2 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Money (That's What I Want); that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 16:12, 2 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Ben (song), you may be blocked from editing. CycloneYoris talk! 20:45, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Greatest Hits (The Jackson 5 album). Robvanvee 16:40, 26 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
