Question from Manya2707 (14:10, 12 April 2024)
hello sir i have created a page in my sandbox but i am unable to send it for review --Manya2707 (talk) 14:10, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Manya2707. Welcome to Wikipedia! You can create it in the draft space by using WP:WIZ 94rain Talk 16:31, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Question from Wonderbosss (16:31, 12 April 2024)
What else do I have to add to this article Draft:Kourage Beatz Nsi to make it notable. I've already added notable people he has worked with and his his albums that have charted on popular charts. --W 0 N D E R B O $ $ $ (talk) 16:31, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Wonderbosss. You should add references that show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). 94rain Talk 17:24, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- 94rain, please look at this article Draft:Kourage Beatz Nsi and tell me places that still needs to be added more sources. W 0 N D E R B O $ $ $ (talk) 17:50, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

when i google my title it does not show on google page for wiki, how do i fix that or how do edit title search? --Hot92texoma (talk) 15:10, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Hot92texoma. Generally speaking, drafts and user space pages are not indexed. You'll need to get the draft published to the article space in order to get the page indexed. Please see WP:SEO for more info. 94rain Talk 07:04, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Question from Stylojohn (08:02, 24 April 2024)
What are some effective strategies for navigating disputes and reaching consensus on contentious topics within Wikipedia's editing community, especially when dealing with conflicting viewpoints or interpretations of reliable sources? --Stylojohn (talk) 08:02, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Stylojohn. Welcome to Wikipedia! In general, you can take a look at WP:DISPUTE for resolving conflicts. For reliable sources, Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard would an ideal venue for such discussions. 94rain Talk 07:24, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

- Hi @Realcontribution. Welcome to Wikipedia! Yes, you can move it to the mainspace, and it still goes to the WP:New page review process. Your article can still get deleted if it does not meet our policies. 94rain Talk 07:26, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I'm an Ayurveda doctor, so my expertise lies primarily in Ayurveda-related topics. Could you guide me on where to find such articles for reference and editing? Also, I have some photographs of herbs commonly used in Ayurveda. How can I incorporate them into the articles? Appreciate any advice or assistance. --Avshai911 (talk) 13:51, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Avshai911. Welcome to Wikipedia! You can take a look at Category:Ayurveda to find such articles. Question from RuffledParrot (18:55, 23 April 2024)
I need to add a citation, pointing to the birth record of Vesta Tilley showing the birth address, which has been given incorrectly as Commandery Street. This is a national Record Office document, available only upon payment. Should I quote the route to it thus: (BIRTHS: POWLES, Matilda Alice, Worcester, JUN 1864, Vol 6c, P323). It would not be a hyperlink. --RuffledParrot (talk) 18:55, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @RuffledParrot. Welcome to Wikipedia! Is the national Record Office document available online? If so, you can just link that page even it says it requires payment. If not, it's still fine if there's no hyperlink. See also Wikipedia:Verifiability#Access_to_sources 94rain Talk 07:08, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I got very busy after my first edit on further Vesta Tilley background research, but did add on a couple of citations after your reply, and finally today have got back to it properly, added a few more details, and will do one more citation a bit later today. Maybe one day I'll write something about the Star Music Hall in Nottingham, for a hot link, but not yet! RuffledParrot (talk) 12:52, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

Question from 3DmicroPrintExpert (11:22, 4 April 2024)
Hi, I got a question regarding adding a language. I added the English version of a German article about a company called Nanoscribe. I work with their devices in my research and think it's worth to mention them in English wikipedia too. But I don't know how to connect these two articles with each other. Could you help me? --3DmicroPrintExpert (talk) 11:22, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @3DmicroPrintExpert. Welcome to Wikipedia! The page about Wikipedia:Wikidata should answer your questions. If you still have questions, feel free to let me know! 94rain Talk 09:01, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @94rain thanks for your reply. I found the way. But since my article has been moved back to drafts, I can't link to it now. I changed a lot of sources after it was pointed out to me that some sources weren't good.
- But now my article has been in the drafts for about two months. Could you give me some advice on what I can do about this? There are ~2600 articles waiting for review. So right now it feels like I did all this work for nothing :( 3DmicroPrintExpert (talk) 08:47, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
Question from Preyn1 (16:12, 5 May 2024)
The article on the 136th Airlift Wing TEXaANG states that in 1966 the unit made transitional deployments to Ramstein Air Base Germany. The actual deployments were not to Ramstein but to Rhein Main Air Base in Frankfurt. However, the “Ramstein” reference in the article is itself a link and when I click to edit it it merely opens the Ramstein link. Might be simpler if you just made the change. Source: at the time I was in the 136ARW public affairs office and made several deployments myself. --Preyn1 (talk) 16:12, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

Question from Droste1977 (21:24, 12 May 2024)
Hi, when I started to learn about editing I figured I would begin with topics which I am quite familiar with because I have published in that area. The topic I know most about is German nationality law. The Wikipedia article on that is rated GA and that supposedly is above my "pay grade." I agree that the article is good, but it can be improved further. Besides little things I noticed that it does not touch on the political controversies behind this area of law. I also just looked at a very different article on ranked-choice voting, and I was actually recruited to work on 2024 election articles. That article also does not mention that election rules in this country are highly controversial. How can you cover these topics without mentioning the political controversies? --Blaze Droste1977 21:24, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Droste1977. Welcome to Wikipedia! Sorry for the late response. You can cover these topics by:
- Adding Reliable Sources: Cite reputable sources that discuss the political controversies.
- Neutral Tone: Present the controversies factually without taking sides.
- Balanced Coverage: Ensure all significant viewpoints are included to provide a balanced perspective.

Question from Kentucky Rain24
Hi94Rain
It has been a while , and happily, I;ve been able to get around without the need to bug you too much.
I do have a question from an issue that came up today - there is a new article - 2024 Nuseirat rescue operation, that some editors want renamed (to a name with "Massacre" in the title. I object to that name (as do others) and it has not been changed , yet.
Another editor than went and created a new article with the name the was objected to. Is that an appropriate way to resolve these kinds of disagreements - having 2 articles about the same thing, but with diffenrt names expressing the opposing points of view? Question from Zelda Zanders (16:06, 23 July 2024)
Hello! I'm a new Wiki editor and I recently expanded an article on the attorney Melvin Wulf. Another user flagged the article as 1) excessively reliant on primary sources, and 2) potentially not compliant with notability guidelines. When I asked them to elaborate, they recommended I reach out directly to my mentor for guidance.
I'm only aware of two primary sources used: the Rutgers Oral History Archive interview conducted by Nicholas Molnar, cited twice, and Wulf's article about Philip Agee, cited once. Would you be able to glance over the article and let me know if there are additional citations I should be concerned about? I'd also really appreciate any guidance on the notability flag.
Article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melvin_Wulf
Thanks so much! Zelda --Zelda Zanders (talk) 16:06, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Zelda Zanders. Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm not an expert on this topic, but I think a lot of the citations to the laws are also primary sources. You can find out more about primary sources here: WP:Primary sources 94rain Talk 09:27, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

Scripts++ Newsletter – Issue 25
Hey there, welcome to the 25th issue of the Wikipedia Scripts++ Newsletter, covering all our favorite new and updated user scripts since 1 March 2024. We've got a ton of wonderful editors taking back their pitchforks today. Don't worry, for they come in peace, to forcibly fix and extend existing scripts you use with sheer passion. There's so many, them forks have got what's basically their own column now! gift us with some rows before it's too late Aaron Liu (talk) 04:00, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Got anything good? Tell us about your new, improved, old, or messed-up script here!
- inline-diff-inline-patrol by Ponor is this edition's featured script. By loading diffs inline on every page that shows a list of changes, it implements the 2023 community wish m:Community Wishlist Survey 2023/Admins and patrollers/Inline diffs and inline patrol. Hopefully we won't need this script anymore soon, with the WMF's focus on the backlog...
- Many of our favorite scripts such as Fred Gandt/userResourceManager, Guarapiranga/search-shortcuts and Bradv/Superlinks haven't been updated for Vector 2022. You could be the one to change that!
- Elominius/media timer works, but its UI looks alien. Someone could improve it...
- To a lesser extent, the same goes for PrimeHunter/Search sort. I wish someone would integrate the sorts into the sort menu instead of adding 11 portlet links.
- We want...
- ...watchlist notices support for Aaron Liu/Watchlyst Greybar Unsin
- ...a tool to automatically fix CAT:BROKENREFs, preferably a fork/addition to TheJJJunk/ARA
- ...a fix/fork of DannyS712/SectionRemover to make it work
- Automatically delink all duplicate links within the same section per MOS:LINKONCE.
- Collapsible parentheses in body text, which had a ridiculously long original request title and was accidentally moved to WP:US/L by me. Oops!
- An easily configurable script to add a link to the #p-vector-user-menu-overflow portlet with a name, target, and icon. This one should be a relatively easier one. I would do it myself, but I'm too busy rotting away on Celeste (video game).
- Preview an edit under the mobile viewport on desktop, with perhaps MediaWiki:Gadget-mobile-sidebar.js used for inspiration.
- ...and many more, all available at Wikipedia:User scripts/Requests. Jeeputer and Nardog have been the most active on the page in the past five months.
- After the RIIJ update, Aaron Liu: Watchlyst Greybar Unsin has a dismiss button that allows you to mark an item as read in one click and cycle to the next Watchlist item.
- Lordseriouspig/StatusChangerImproved is just like Enterprisey's script, except you select your status from a dropdown instead of cycling through them with a button. The WMF operates out of car-centric infrastructure anyway. Shame!
- Aaron Liu has created Duplinks from Evad37/duplinks-alt; his fork adds a config variable to automatically highlight duplicate links on the loading of any page where the portlet link would've appeared.
- BilledMammal/Move+ expands the powers of User:TheTVExpert/rmCloser to include common procedures done with the art of moving pages.
- On a holiday? Somewhere? Gotta learn ye ABCs? CanonNi/StatusSetter puts the fun into Enterprisey/StatusChanger with a quadruple more statuses. That starts with a C!
- In our continuing trend(s?), DaxServer/DiscussionCloser forks DannyS712/DiscussionCloser to make it work. Sadly, this is the end of our lexicographic combo.
- Andrybak:
- user-tabs-on-contribs is a fork of User:Enterprisey/user-tabs-on-contribs for Vector 2022.
- Archiver is a fork of User:Enterprisey/archiver with automatic calculation of the destination archive subpage and with support for non-Vector skins.
- Quite coincidentally, Elli/OneClickArchiver has been forked from User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver to work with the mw:Heading HTML changes.
- FlightTime/OneClickArchiver forks the same thing but also no longer nonsensically prepends {{clear}} to page archives.
- Aaron Liu: MoveTop adds a different padlock topicon for each level of move-protection.
- Andrybak/Not around can help you mark talk pages of inactive users with {{not around}}.
- BrandonXLF/AddCopied automatically tags talk pages of pages you've copied between with {{copied}}.
- Bugghost/UserRoleIndicator adds text labels (which default to emoji) to user links that label the user's usergroups. Wow, that's a mouthful
- CanonNi/AlertAssistant adds a Twinkle-style dialog for alerting users about contentious topics.
- CFA/AttributeTranslation automatically tags articles translated from other places with appropriate attribution.
- In the defense of the 'pedia, the humble Jeeputer/defconIndicator adds the WP:WIKIDEFCON status to the toolbar.
- Tired of staring at a bunch of filtering text and waiting for darn filter logs to load? Msz2001/AbuseFilter analyzer can parse abuse filters into a visual syntax tree and evaluate locally on-demand!
- Polygnotus/DuplicateReferences finds references with the same link and displays the number of them along with a button to add the {{duplicated citations}} tag under the references section. Being lazy has never been easier!
- fastest gun on the net Ponor/really-quick-block really quick add to contribution lists three buttons awesome
- TheTechie/Help Me Tool is a quick and easy way of responding to {{help me}} requests.
- Per MOS:CONFORM, ZKang123/TitleCaseConverter converts all citation titles to... title case, unfortunately.
