Welcome!

edit

Hello, A2 karim, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Ashfaque Karim, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms our use and policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome!   Hello, I'm The Mighty Glen. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Ashfaque Karim, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. The Mighty Glen (talk) 12:25, 13 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Ashfaque Karim. The addition of unsourced material, along with removal of sourced material in an attempt to remove negative information about, will not be tolerated.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Ashfaque Karim, you may be blocked from editing. If you dispute the content of this page, take up the matter on Talk:Ashfaque Karim. But do not continue to attempt to whitewash your Wikipedia biography. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:43, 13 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Ashfaque Karim a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Your contributed article, AHMAD ASHFAQUE KARIM

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, AHMAD ASHFAQUE KARIM. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Ashfaque Karim. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Ashfaque Karim. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. KingAndGod 08:01, 14 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, A2 karim. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Al-Karim University, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 07:03, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Mohammad Modassir Shams moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Mohammad Modassir Shams, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Mohammad Modassir Shams.jpeg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Mohammad Modassir Shams.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Awards

edit

Hello Karim, as you probably noticed the editor you discussed with last evening was new here, your edit obviously wasn't vandalism.

Citing the university page for these awards is fine and is a reliable source.

The only possibly objectionable aspect to the awards list is that it's not clear that they're noteworthy enough to mention, and one editor has in the past objected on those grounds (though at the time it was also about the lack of sources).

One thing we recommend to those with a conflict of interest is to not directly edit the article itself but to suggest edits on the talk page. In your case, you'd go to Talk:Ahmad Ashfaque Karim and create a new section with an explanation of the requested edit and the text {{request edit}}. Then an uninvolved editor will come along and apply the edit.

Thjarkur (talk) 11:13, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Let me add that while one may agree that your edits are not vandalism, they are certainly disruptive. If someone reverts your edit, the correct action is to follow WP:BRD and discuss it. If you keep re-introducing the data, after being warned about it multiple times, you are disruptive. This would have been true even without the glaring conflict of interest, which you keep ignoring.
I urge you, for the third time, to address this conflict of interest in a proper manner:
  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
--Muhandes (talk) 16:48, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have made changes and in the edit summary mentioned, "COI Contribution" . This is in accordance with Wikipedia: Conflict of interest policy, point 2, under "How to disclose a COI" heading, mentioned on <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest> . A2 karim (talk) 18:40, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

You are disruptive again. You are replacing secondarily sourced material with unsourced or primarily sourced material. The material is far from neutral. And you are, again, going against WP:BRD. Other editors and myself have warned you ample times so I don't see the point in another warning. --Muhandes (talk) 06:17, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
