ISO an experienced Manitoba-based Wikipedian who would like to help out at an edit-a-thon in Brandon, Manitoba in March 2019. I'm looking into getting a grant to offset travel and accommodations costs. AGSMcurator (talk) 22:02, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
- You may want to take a look at WP:Meetup, WP:How to run an edit-a-thon and the respective talk pages at WT:Meetup and WT:How to run an edit-a-thon. Unless you're looking for some random benefactor (who is unlikely to review help requests), the Wikimedia Foundation would be the most likely source for grants, but I rather don't think they give grants of this kind.
- There's an unrelated issue: The username makes this a role account; those are not permitted on Wikipedia. Only one person may have access to an account, ever (ie if you retire as curator, your successor may not inherit this account), and the username must not indicate otherwise. If you are the only person with access to the account, you can request a change of username ("John at AGSM" would be OK, for example, as would a pseudonym like "Little fluffy bunny"). Or, if that's easier, you can simply abandon this account and create a new one whose username is in line with the username policy. Huon (talk) 23:11, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
