You’ve made a good start here. I can see where the new section will fit and the sources that you have begun to add.

I’m not sure what you want to add here – just what documents were left by this explorer/slaver? Or what other members of the group said about him? Or is the bigger point to lay out how much effect Espejo had on the region?

What you have here are some classic works that are already in the article. You need to find more recent scholarship about the slave trade in what becomes New Mexico and the Pueblo region. Yake a look at: James Brooks, Captives and Cousins – Slavery, Kinship, and Community in the Southwest Borderlands. 2002, University of North Carolina Press. And also Ramon Gutierrez, When Jesus Came, the Corn Mothers Went Away : Marriage, Sexuality, and Power in New Mexico, 1500-1846;   Carroll L. Riley Rio Del Norte : People of the Upper Rio Grande from Earliest times to the Pueblo Revolt. Salt Lake City: U of Utah, 1995. Web.
