Wikipedia Capacity Building Workshop

Wikimedia South Africa will be hosting Asaf Bartov from the Wikimedia Foundation for 5 days where he will be conducting a series of Capacity Building Workshops in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The workshops are aimed at addressing challenges faced by African Wikimedians and share tools that will enable them to better increase African content. In Johannesburg the workshops will take place on 25 - 26 May 2018 at the Goethe Institut, and in Cape Town Asaf will be meeting Wikimedians on 29 May 2018. AfroCine: Join us for the Months of African Cinema in October!

Grace Randolph Controversy Section

I see that back in August you were thinking of removing this section, and I agree as it encourages trolls to add other controversies. As the original creator of this page I think it would be really helpful if you were to follow your original instinct. So I hope you'll reconsider. FYI some of your edits were undone, including the Lady & The Tramp section put back in by the editor who originally added it. Since I agree with you that section in particular is very poorly sourced, I've submitted it to the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard with a detailed explanation and evidence as to why that section should be removed. Wikimania in South Africa

Wikimania 2022 is almost here (11-14 August 2022) and will be held entirely online this year with the exception of a number of local mini-Wikimania's for local community members. I just wanted to let you know that two local Wikimania mini-events will be happening in South Africa; one in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg.
