@Paul2520: Thanks Paul for the welcome message! I was concerned my first article would be tagged for notability and lack of secondary sources, and it was. I have added additional secondary sources and tried to document notability. If you have any additional suggestions, please let me know. Thanks, Aaron Liston (talk) 18:56, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, Aaron Liston, and sorry for my delayed response. The article looks great now! Thanks for being diligent about sources.
- I believe the article meets the criteria for Wikipedia:Did you know. Would you be interested in nominating it? I would be happy to help -- note we'd want to get it done today or tomorrow, due to the requirement that new articles be nominated within seven days of being started... = paul2520 💬 15:13, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
@Paul2520: Sure, what do I need to do?
- I'm curious is the D. you added a first name, or supposed to be Dr.?
- I filled-out the nomination: Template:Did you know nominations/Vivian Lee Bowden. I would say if you just watch to see if there are comments/feedback and address them, that would be great! I can help, too, as needed. = paul2520 💬 00:31, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
@Paul2520: Thanks for the nomination - I will look for comments. D. is an abbreviation for her first name, which I have not been able to find. I could not find her on any geneology websites, and the only source that uses it is the strawberry book preface.
- For sure! I like Did you know... because (1) of course the publicity on the front page for a day, (2) at least 1-2 other editors should review the article in the process and supply feedback, and (3) as a result of the attention, other editors might become interested to contribute :-) = paul2520 💬 03:37, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
DYK for Vivian Lee Bowden
editOn 15 April 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Vivian Lee Bowden, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that as part of her influential research on the garden strawberry, Vivian Lee Bowden discovered the unpublished drawings of early French botanist Antoine Nicolas Duchesne? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Vivian Lee Bowden. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Vivian Lee Bowden), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
