Hey there, sorry but another wiki is not a citation or a reliable source at all. All it appears you've done is change a worldwide perspective of the E46 through the years to a US-centric one. Please try to incorporate your changes into the old text instead of swapping them over. Matty (talk) 07:40, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- You obviously don't understand how things work here, so i'd like you to read WP:RS. I am free to revert the changes you've made at my own will thanks, you don't own them as they've been released under GFDL (something you agree to when you click save page). It is also poor that you are making assumptions here - I indeed to know quite a bit about the E46 model line. You may think you know what you are talking about, but all you've done is replaced unsourced stuff with more unsourced stuff (but the stuff you've added only deals with US BMW models). I am not saying the previous information was correct, but deleting an entire section of the article and replacing it with similarly unsourced information is not the way to go. I will be merging the information together over the next few days, and removing information that is not sourced. Matty (talk) 08:48, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- Feel free to report me, I know the rules around here and can assure you that you are in the wrong regardless of how you think Wikipedia should work. You need to substantiate your claims with a valid reliable source, something which the bimmerfest wiki is not. I see you haven't read WP:RS, so please take the time to read over that. - Look, i'll explain to you what has happened because somewhere along the way you seem to have gotten confused.. All i've done is reverted you deleting an entire section of an article without a proper explanation diff. I have not changed your edits in any way, I merely pointed out that you have not correctly cited your revisions like you claim you have. I don't understand the hostility you're directing towards me. I'd also like to tell you that i've been a member of E46 fanatics and bimmerfest for 4 and a half years, and have owned a 323, a 328, and a 330. I do know my way around the E46 model and have followed the range from the start. I am not about to butcher "your" article, I am just as concerned as you are about the verifiability of the article . I would ask that you step down the hostility and threats until we can work something out. My issue is that you've replaced worldwide information with US-only information. For example, the "Ci" was released in mid '99, but the article claims '00 because this is the US release date. The article also states that the model was released in 99. This is impossible, as I owned a '98 E46 323 back in 2001 (however my word is original research and therefore not valid). I haven't had time to read through the full list of changes yet, but when I do I will be merging them with correctly cited information for the rest of the world. I would like you to try and see things from my perspective here, and try to understand that another freely editable Wiki is not a reliable source in this case. Car reports from Edmunds would be. Newspaper reports would be. BMW press releases would be. Another Wiki is simply not a reliable source and constitutes original research (WP:OR) which is strictly forbidden, so as strange as it may seem to you your information has the same credibility as the old information. It's just how Wikipedia works. I hope this clarifies the situation. Have a good day, Matty (talk) 04:11, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey Aaron, i've made some changes (nothing you won't agree with hopefully) on the E46 article and I thought i'd notify you in the spirit of collaboration. The diff is here, if there are any problems that my edit summary doesn't cover feel free to contact me. It pretty much just changed the MY section to represent what the rest of the article says. I don't have a cite but i'm sure if I did some digging i'd be able to get one, if you think (or know) that the US markets definitely got the E46 sedan in '98 and the rest in '99 like the rest of the world, feel free to change the revisions but i'm almost 100% sure they didn't. I removed the Bimmerfest cite as it wasn't really valid and i'm sure no ones going to come and argue with general knowledge, it wouldn't stand up if challenged anyway.
Anyway, hope you have a good day!
PS: I'd noticed you'd changed the car picture a while back to the base 1998 sedan. I did some looking, and per WP:CARPIX articles are free to display any picture of any spec of the car. We might as well show the nicer ZHP one, instead of the 11 year old one. I'd ask that you didn't change this back as its a cleaner, nicer looking photo, but if you've gotta then I won't argue.
