Speedy deletion of Creation of page
editThank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion of Kiyoung Kim
editA tag has been placed on Kiyoung Kim requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

- Check out WP:BIO for details on what you need to be able to show in order to show that your person meets the notability requirements for the project. In general, you need to show multiple reliable, independant, non-trivial references to establish to establish notability. - TexasAndroid (talk) 15:45, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
You recent edits on Universities
editI saw you made a couple addition on some Universities concerning the Gourman report and the "declining non-English speaking universities influence". Maybe it would be a good idea to discuss both points on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities before continuing these edits? --Anneyh (talk) 08:20, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
- I see that the Gourman Report was most recently published in 1997. I think that alone is reason enough to stop inserting it into current articles. JohnInDC (talk) 10:47, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've raised the issue here. JohnInDC (talk) 18:09, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.
- I note that an anonymous editor has emerged to revert an entire series of my edits on this subject, here. If that is you, trying to avoid this 3RR problem, I would strongly caution you against the practice. You will wind up with a blocked account. JohnInDC (talk) 16:49, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
Gourman Report
editI want to be clear in stating my objections to this item, in the hope that you'll stop adding it to various university articles short of finding yourself blocked.
The report - which has been consistently criticized on methodological grounds - was last published in 1997. The information, if it was ever 'reliable', is now stale and should not be inserted into current articles to describe the rankings of universities. Please stop doing so. It does not improve the articles, but instead muddies them with old information. JohnInDC (talk) 11:11, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. JohnInDC (talk) 11:19, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
