editIf you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Walt Disney World Dolphin, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. —Whoville (talk) 00:42, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
Help
edit{{helpme|I have tried to make some changes to a page that
talks about the company that I work for but it keeps reverting back to the previous version. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!}}
- To answer the above section, read the "July 2008" section below. If you have a COI, it's best to stay away from that article to avoid violating NPOV. If you still have any questions, you can reach me at my talk. Thanks! Meisfunny Gab How was I? 21:53, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- The additions you are making have the effect of turning an enclopedia article into an advertisement. It's hard for everyone to avoid doing that when writing about our own businesses, which is why we don't write about our own businesses. Your edits are being reverted by another user, who is also warning you that you could be blocked from editing if you keep adding advertising-type material to the encyclopedia article. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 21:56, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
