How does a page take to get approved or published ? Abkfirst01 (talk) 06:34, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- I recommend not trying to create a page until you've edited for a few weeks. During that time, read Help:About, Help:My first article, and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Taking this time to become familiar with Wikipedia will help you pick an topic that is "notable" - non-notable topics are not accepted, and those that do make it in are routinely deleted - and it will help you write a draft that is "encyclopedic" in tone rather than one that reads like an essay, resume, advertisement, or other format that is not acceptable.
- After you've been reading and making small edits for a couple of weeks, you might want to go to the Teahouse (see above), read questions others have asked, and if you still have questions, ask them.
- Writing an article is NOT easy. It is also NOT necessary to write an article from scratch to become a valuable contributor to Wikipedia.
- Oh, to answer your original question: There is no one right answer. More than half of the drafts I've reviewed in the last few months have been on non-notable topics and were never accepted. Others took weeks of back-and-forth between myself, the author, and other editors to "get right." One was written about a notable topic and was "almost good enough" - not "great" not even "good enough" but "almost good enough" - that I accepted it immediately and made the few changes needed to make it "good enough." This is NOT the normal case. The three things you can do to make acceptance faster rather than slower are 1) become familiar with Wikipedia by spending a couple of weeks poking around and making relatively small changes and practicing in your sandbox, 2) pick a topic that clearly meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines (see "Help:My first article" above), and use good, reliable, acceptable references effectively (again, see "Help:My first article"). A hint on references: A small number of high-quality references are far better than 10 or 20 low-quality ones. If you DO need to have a lot of references, put a note on the "talk" page of your draft pointing to the "best" 2 or 3. "Best" means the ones that, if I read JUST the references, I would say to myself "This topic is definitely notable, it should have a Wikipedia article." davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 13:26, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Your user page
editI moved your user page, User:Abkfirst01, to User:Abkfirst01/sandbox. Your user page is meant to tell other editors about your activities on Wikipedia. You can leave it blank if you choose. It is not for draft articles. Draft articles should be created as "user sub-pages" or as pages whose name starts with Draft:. For more information on user pages and user sub-pages, read Wikipedia:User pages. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 00:06, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Comrade Mahmud Muhammad
editHello Abkfirst01,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Comrade Mahmud Muhammad for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
