Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! editHi Academic10! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Ethnic groups in Europe several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Ethnic groups in Europe, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Rsk6400 (talk) 05:59, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Death of Mahsa Amini, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. editThis is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You have been waging edit wars while logged in and out. That is not acceptable. Drmies (talk) 17:43, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi sorry to bother you, I didn't respond at the time as I was unaware about what this warning was even for as I didn't feel like I had done anything wrong. However i've now noticed as another user has brought it to my attention that it may be an accusation 'sock puppeting' on 'Iraqis' page (could you confirm this please?). If it is then the IP who I can see has made consistent edits on that page has nothing to do with me I simply reinstated one of their edits (adding Kurdish translation of Iraqis as it is a co-official language) as I thought it was important to be there, but that doesn't mean that I am them I haven't sockpuppeted I simply thought one of his edits was important to be there so brought it back, just to be clear. I don't understand how that warranted an 'only warning' so immediately when I only made one edit (not edit warring) and when I didn't make any edits on an IP (my edits are Academic10 only).
- Kindest regards Academic10 (talk) 00:53, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
