I've reverted your edits to Charles Mackerras as they were (ironically given your username) completely inaccurate. He was "merely" a CBE, not a KBE (which incidentally stands for Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire), he is styled "Sir" as he was a Knight Bachelor (an honour which carries no postnominals).
