Your submission at Articles for creation: Joseph Matick (December 23)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Somepinkdude was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
 The comment the reviewer left was:
No independent sources with non-trivial coverage apart from #4.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi Somepinkdude, and thank you for reviewing the draft. I’ve reworked Draft:Joseph Matick to address the notability concerns you raised.
In particular, I have:
– Added and foregrounded several independent, in‑depth sources, including a Flaunt profile (“Joseph Matick – Two Songs”), a long interview and photo essay in Boys by Girls (“BBG Presents: Joseph Matick”), a detailed Q&A in Echo Room about the album Western Pink, and a full review of that album in Magazine Sixty that describes it as “an important document for the times”.
– Cited a Billboard feature on Girlyboi (with Joseph Matick) and coverage in outlets such as Flaunt and C‑Heads to document his earlier work in fashion‑adjacent music contexts.
– Retained primary sources (official site, Far West Press, library catalogs) only for straightforward factual details, and ensured that claims of significance or interpretation are supported by independent sources.
I understand the need for significant coverage in reliable, secondary sources. If you have time to take another look at the current version, I would appreciate any further guidance on whether the independent profiles, review and Q&A now meet the threshold for notability under WP:BIO.
Thank you again for your time and help. Acronymos (talk) 00:22, 25 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Feedback
The reviewer, Nighfidelity, left the following feedback:
This draft's references do not show that the person meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for people. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
  • provide significant coverage: discuss the person in detail, not brief mentions or interviews lacking independent analysis;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the person, such as interviews, press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content.
Please add references that meet all three of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.

Next steps

  • Edit Draft:Joseph Matick to address the points above, making sure to publish any changes.
  • When you are ready to resubmit your draft for review, click the Resubmit button.
  • If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it may be deleted.

Drafts

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Acronymos, I'm Bearcat. Please note that pages in draft space, such as Draft:Joseph Matick are not allowed to be categorized alongside finished articles in mainspace, per WP:DRAFTNOCAT. The page must stay out of any categories so long as it is outside mainspace, and this is not an optional rule that you're free to disregard or ignore.

You can provisionally list categories in your draft without affecting content categories by using one of the methods described here.

As the page has had to be pulled out of categories at least eight times, do not readd it to categories again, because draft and sandbox pages are not allowed to be in content categories. Note as well that there can be consequences for disruption if it doesn't stop, such as page protection or deletion and/or the temporary or permanent suspension of your editing privileges. Bearcat (talk) 06:09, 29 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Bearcat: — thanks for both the warning and the cleanup. Apologies for the eight prior removals; the categories were carried over from a much older revision when I pasted the rewritten body, not deliberate disregard. They are neutralized now and will stay that way until acceptance. Acronymos (talk) 06:04, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello, beautiful souls- I’ve been under the microscope of some of wikis very best and brightest. It is a new language for me. I can say with certainty, I’m not forging any erroneous criteria- but perhaps lost in translation. Would appreciate thoughtful look that poses this as real and not faux. Because the latter has come from pandering to a speech o do not know. I want this kid to succeed! He is, but wiki has cache so, come one come all! ~2026-27837-61 (talk) 04:36, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
