File copyright problem with File:The Third Society.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:The Third Society.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:19, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback. I spoke with J.A. Steel, CEO of Warrior Entertainment. I am added the copyright tag:
The copyright holder of this file, Warrior Entertainment, allows anyone to use it for any purpose, provided that the copyright holder is properly attributed. Redistribution, derivative work, commercial use, and all other uses are permitted. |
Image maintenance templates
editPlease do not remove image maintenance templates without first addressing the concern they pertain to. This is disruptive to Wikipedia. Instead, you should read and understand the above message, and select an appropriate image copyright tag for the image you uploaded. (ESkog)(Talk) 23:31, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for helping me. I added the copyright tag:
The copyright holder of this file, Warrior Entertainment, Inc., allows anyone to use it for any purpose, provided that the copyright holder is properly attributed. Redistribution, derivative work, commercial use, and all other uses are permitted. |
Proposed deletion of J.A. Steel
editThe article J.A. Steel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- May not meet WP:ENT
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 23:56, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. I believe I answered the questions and concerns, and explained the changes in the edits summary. I appreciate any futher guidance you can provide. I also replied to your talk. Action grrl (talk) 01:14, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Salvation.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Salvation.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.101.36 (talk) 00:52, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. I added the copyright tag
The copyright holder of this file, Warrior Entertainment, Inc., allows anyone to use it for any purpose, provided that the copyright holder is properly attributed. Redistribution, derivative work, commercial use, and all other uses are permitted. |
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Denizen (2010 film), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://bmovieman.com/Denizen.aspx. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 16:47, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the warm welcome! It can be a pretty intimidating place with all of the Admins going over your articles...but I understand the importance of standards and accuracy! :)
I am an action girl, a Lesbian and a fan of JA Steel and other strong women.
I was thinking about an article on her first movie, The Third Society....but, might wait a while...catch my breath after a whirlwind day on Denizen. :)
Action grrl (talk) 05:05, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Chris,
I look forward to working with you. I'll send you article ideas in the future before submission.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss....you must be a great person! :)

- Thank you for that. I'm okay, but she was a great lady. Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 08:51, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
- I know she is....still influential in your life! Action grrl (talk) 14:09, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi Chris,
There is no article on one of the most loved Lesbian movies of all time, The Gymnast, staring Dreya Weber, who did the choreography for Pink! at a recent award ceremony. I'd love your thoughts on how to craft an article about this beloved movie of my friends and I. The Gymnast at IMDb.
Thanks, Action grrl (talk) 02:57, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi Chris,
I would also like to do an article on the award-winning Alexandra Kondracke, who is directing the new Girltrash! film and was a writer/producer for The L Word. She has a long career in Hollywood, but no Wikipedia article. Action grrl at IMDb. I would appreciate your help and collaboration.
Thanks, Action grrl (talk) 06:43, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
- I have created User:Action grrl/workshop, User:Action grrl/workshop/The Gymnast, User:Action grrl/workshop/Alexandra Kondracke for you, since I have nothing to do for Christmas, I will flesh these out soon, but have to clean my classroom today. Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 09:15, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks Chris....this will be a fun project over the holiday. I really appreciate your help. I don't like conflict, and this has been a hard experience...though I have learned a lot in the process. Good luck with your classroom...I'm going to go work out and relieve some built up stress. :) Action grrl (talk) 14:09, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
- If you have to shoot anything, I want details later. ;) You've not lived until you've seen a beautiful Japanese lady with a Tommie gun, fedora and cigar blow through a thousand rounds... Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 14:17, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
- I know a lesbian who works at the place that makes the Robinson Armament XCR. After the last two days, I am tempted to pay a visit and put some rounds downrange at targets of Wiki articles. :) Action grrl (talk) 17:11, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the words of wisdom. You are correct that much of the issue with reliable sources is with mainstream media, not Wikipedia which references outside sources. Please see this article on how women are still treated in Hollywood: Times Critic On Hollywood, Women, & Why Romantic Comedies Suck
Add being Lesbian, and you are a fraction minority within a minority trying to compete. Thus, the Wikiepedia articles about women in Hollywood often use references from other forms of media. However, they are notable, real and reliable.
An article about the Showtime webseries Girltrash! was deleted last week from Wikipedia. If you search for Girltrash! on Wikipedia, you will see red links from many women in Hollywood who participated in the project, including director Angela Robinson from Herbie: Fully Loaded and the L Word. Girltrash! is now being made into a feature film called Girltrash: All Night Long at IMDb, with many of the who-is-who from the Lesbian community in Hollywood and is produced by POWER UP. It is the biggest project currently in production in our community, and its filming is all over the Lesbian social networks within Facebook and Twitter: Girltrash official website.
However, some Wikipedia editors did not find Girltrash! notable or have reliable references. To our community this unbelievable. Likewise, articles on actress Dreya Weber and her movie A Marine Story are tagged for deletion.
I only have so much time to devote to Wikipedia, and it has been a hard experience...thanks for making it better! I will continue to do what I can to be a voice for our community.
All collaboration and assistance to ensure the integrity of Wikipedia is most welcome.
Thanks, Action grrl (talk) 17:18, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Possible conflict of interest
editHi, somebody has posted to the conflict of interest noticeboard about your recent edits. The discussion is here, you are welcome to comment. I've had a quick review of your edits and I can't see the evidence of a COI but thought you should be aware of the post. Smartse (talk) 16:02, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the info...and for making the edits with the link to the standards...I see Facebook, MySpace, etc are not supposed to be posted.
This has been quite a 'school of hard knocks'....but, I will continue to stick to the facts and get better with help from folks like you! :)
Articles for deletion nomination of Denizen (2010 film)
editI have nominated Denizen (2010 film), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Denizen (2010 film). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 03:18, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for the notification, and the opportunity to edit the the article to address your concerns and to discuss your nomination on the page you provided.
- Your mentoring to improve the article, and my skills as a Wiki contributor, is most appreciated.

You're welcome
editAll one might hope to do is give an article its best chance for survival. If it is deleted, you might ask the closing editor to "userfy" the article into a special workspace all your own at User:Action grrl/workspace/Denizen (2010 film) (link turns blue when filled). I suspect you found the strange ins and outs of Wikipedia a bit daunting at first, so I'm pleased you did not give up in despair. You might be interested in perusing my pet project found HERE. Its unfinished.. about 3/4 complete... but so far decently informative for the new editor. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 13:51, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your wisdom and insight. The experience has been very difficult. I will ask for a "userfy" into User:Action grrl/workspace/Denizen (2010 film) if the article is deleted. Your article is wonderful...well written, informative and collaborative....all that I hoped for when joining Wikipedia. I appreciate your encouragement and guidance. Wishing you a very Happy New Year! Action grrl (talk) 14:52, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Denizen (2010 film)
editHi Action grrl! I deleted Denizen (2010 film) just now, but don't dispair! I've put it in your personal workspace User:Action grrl/workspace/Denizen (2010 film). It just needs a little bit more sourcing before putting it back in article space. I'm sure that when the film is finally released, that'll be easy. Michael can probably help out, he's got a good feel for these things.
I'm sorry for the trouble you've encountered, some of the editors at the deletion debate were a bit hounding. I'll leave them a note about that. Happy new year! henrik•talk 10:13, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you henrik•talk....I will keep working and adding sources as they are published. I appreciate the acknowledgement of the struggles. It was hard, but I am glad to be here! :)
Happy New Year!

- *blush*...thank you Schmidt, MICHAEL Q., this is quite a surprise and an honor. I appreciate your example and leadership!
Okay.... I gave it a cleanup and re-structure to give it its best chance of survival. As there is no other film named Denizen on Wikipedia, I also moved it from Denizen (2010 film) to the simpler Denizen (film) per naming conventions. I suggest you read up on Wikipedia:Article Incubator and then move it to Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Denizen (film) for input from others... and where, upon approval, it will be moved back to mainspace. I think that since it is now encyclopedic and nicely sourced, its return has a decent chance of being approved. Or if you'd like, I can do the move myself. It'd be a pleasure. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 01:14, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- Wow Michael, it is amazing. Thank you so much! If you could move it to the incubator, I would be most grateful. I appreciate your time and expertise! Action grrl (talk) 01:36, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Denizenmovie.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Denizenmovie.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:24, 20 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 02:24, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'll fix this and give proper attribution. There is a proper format for Non-free content, and you didn't use it. No worries. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 02:40, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- See attribution and fair use rational at Denizen_movie_poster.jpg Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 02:59, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you Michael!!! Your expertise is clear, and your mentoring is so very appreciated. Very articulate rationale! Action grrl (talk) 03:06, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- The others you uploaded might as well be deleted now as lacking proper Free Use Rationale, as duplicative, and (now) unlinked. Don't sweat it. There's always something new to learn. In uplaoding any non-free image, it is imperative to always give as detailed a rationale as possible. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:23, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- Understand. Learned a lot from your edits and additions. I am really impressed with the rationale...how to properly source images is a weakness, and this is most helpful! Thanks! Action grrl (talk) 03:26, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:The_Gymnast_movie_poster.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:The_Gymnast_movie_poster.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 02:51, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will work with the image publishing again after the main article goes from incubation to live. Action grrl (talk) 16:17, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
You did some good work. I gave the article some major tune-ups, added two more reviews and several new cites and have tagged it for evaluation for return to mainspace. Thanks for keepin' the faith. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 05:41, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks so much Michael. Your major tune-up really took it to the next level. The page and extra reviews look fabulous! I appreciate your kind words and mentoring! Action grrl (talk) 12:52, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
