Request reason:
I would like to request IP address block exemption, as I am in China and am accessing Wikipedia via a VPN. The IP address I got is not controlled by me, and I often fall into the blocked IP addresses. I already have such status in Chinese Wikipedia. Adah1972 (talk) 02:18, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
Accept reason:
IPBE granted as you meet the requirements outlined at WP:IPEC. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 17:47, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Request reason:
I am located in China, and I am now accessing Wikipedia via a VPN. It seems the VPN address (116.251.209.82) is part of 116.251.208.0/20 and blocked. Without the VPN, my direct access to Wikipedia is slow to impossible just now (it is sometimes faster, maybe related to the use of https). So I am requesting the unblock of this this VPN (116.251.209.82) for the benefit of people in China that try to work around the Great Firewall. For the complete record, the VPN domain name is s7.ovpn.im, belonging to the web site www.openervpn.in. Adah (talk) 06:31, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
Decline reason:
That IP, which originates in Singapore, was blocked as an open proxy. We don't unblock open proxies/webhosts without evidence that they are no longer open. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:59, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
If you want to get around the block the legit way, you can request IP block exemption by going to that page and following the link to the OTRS page. Daniel Case (talk) 17:02, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hi OhNoitsJamie, what led people to think 116.251.209.82 was an open proxy? I guess it might be that some IP addresses in that block were used for that purpose, but this specific IP should not be, as it is a paid VPN server. To be sure, I even scanned ports on that IP, and there is no port for web proxy open. Adah (talk) 02:44, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Current practice is to block open proxies, and grant WP:IPBE on a case by case basis where this an actual need for this exemption. PhilKnight (talk) 02:55, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

And per that, please take my advice above. The people who give out IPBE can be very understanding for users trapped behind Golden Shield, in my experience. Daniel Case (talk) 12:21, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Adah. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Adah~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
