Orchard Square Link
Hello Adambro, Regarding the external link at the Orchard Square article. Though this effectively repeats the funcion of the coor title dms at the top of the page, the desirability of such links has been discussed. Please see [[1]],[[2]],[[3]] cheers, Wikityke 02:56, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Duplicates
Can you substitute on your subpages all svg-images for railwaydiagrams, which are duplicates, with the other one ? that will be nice. You can find them here. The filenames start with "BSicon" and contain the substring "STB" somewhere behind. Thank you. 84.150.215.245 11:43, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Adambro,
Thanks! Having previously received no response to my query, I wondered if I was sending the message to the wrong location. It appears that there are a couple of case of links like this on his pages...
Take care,

Glasgow Central usage
Hi there, whereabouts in the National Rail Trends did you find the usage for Glasgow Central? Thanks. Adambro 12:28, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I did not find it, another user found it and added the data to Glasgow Central, so I amended the template to display it. Now I have had another look as the National Rail Trends, I think this was the wrong source and I have possibly pre-empted the next set of data. Have a look yourself and if you think that I have been misled and carried out an incorrect edit feel free to reverse; and the original Glasgow Central that triggered me into action. --Stewart 16:59, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry about my misunderstanding. I've looked through the NRT and cannot see anything which would provide a reference for the figure that was added. In the interests of not misleading readers I will remove it because it is better to not say anything than to say something that is possibly incorrect. I've also removed the 06/07 fields from the template, for the time being at least it doesn't seem they are required. As per comments I've previously left on the template talk page, I've also removed the links to the disclaimers as these can be accessed through the link to the source and this keeps the template smaller. Adambro 19:36, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
As I said, no talking
This is a polite notice. I see you like me very much and like to particpate in anything i have an input on at any level, particularly spending time in placing requests for comments. I'm going to try and be clear; under no circumstances do I want to see a participation by you, involving comments intended to provoke an angry response, on my talk page. Whatever you tell me will be delete and ignored whatever its content, , this is afterall a polite repeater notice. Doing so is, despite what you or anyone else says[4], trolling and will be stored as such. You know I don't like you, and instead of violation god how many conventions and waste my time telling you wrong for such and such reasons I'd rather tell you plainly, don' talk to me, ever. I don't rate your work, I don't rate your comments, It is perfectly approrpiate for you never to leave any messages on my page, even to tell me you've left the nth request for comment regarding me. Cheers, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons 17:15, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm slightly unsure as to what has triggered you to leave this comment now but note you have unearthed a previous comment of mine and added it to your "trollbox". That was another instance when Wikipedia guidelines suggest I should notify you of my actions. I fail to see in what way that could be described as trolling but will now accept your intention to ignore anything I say on your talk page and so will take this as negating my responsibility to notify you of any of my actions which may concern you. I have never left "comments intended to provoke an angry response" on your talk page so I would suggest you must have misunderstood my comments. Adambro 18:24, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Mistake?
Hallo,
I don't know for what reasons the following text appeared on my screen while searching information:
"Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Joseph Smith, Jr., are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Adambro 17:20, 25 December 2006 (UTC)"
I never did any edits at all, nor have seen any Joseph Smith, Jr. What does this mean? It only took my precious time to bother with this message. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.127.177.146 (talk • contribs) 19:05, 15 April 2007
- Sorry about the confusion, I suspect the IP address you are using may be shared. Another user vandalised an article in December 2006 and so I left the warning on the IP address talk page. You can ignore the message. Adambro 19:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
CSB on Captain Scarlet
Don't know this is of interest to you, but there is a community-sanctioned ban proposal against Captain Scarlet currently going through the noticeboard. I've spoken both for- and against- him in this debate, and I know you have had various experiences with this chap in both very positive and negative capacities, that's why I thought it would be of interest to you. AWB posting on talk page
Hi there - can I pick your brains? i spotted that you'd used AWB to put a Wikiproject template on a talk page (on St John's Lock as it happens). Can you tell me how you use AWB to get to the talk page of an article, as opposed to just getting the article itself? I can't see anything in the user guide to tell me, but I'm sure it's something obvious that I just can't see! Thanks, Bencherlite 18:25, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Bencherlite. Unfortunately, I don't know a way of making AWB edit an articles talk page. What I've done is get the contents of the categories I'm interested in then selected the list and clicked "Convert to talk pages" on the right click menu. It does make it quite a slow progress at times though. It might be worth raising this somewhere on the AWB discussion pages. Adambro 18:32, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll give it a go next time I'm using AWB for project tagging. Bencherlite 18:34, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Australian Companies clean-up
Thanks for your message. If you've not noticed, i've started to undertake a category cleanup as noted on the WP:AUS talk page. With the majority of companies I prefer to err on the side of caution and go AfD instead of PROD or CSD A7 (db-corp), one man's non-notable may not always be agreed with. I also find that if someone else does consider them notable within Australia, it will also spur improvements to it. Thewinchester (talk) 11:14, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, good work. As you say, it is often wiser to be on the cautious side. Adambro 11:18, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

RE: AIV
Hi there. Regarding your message, "despite this user not having a final warning, you felt it inappropriate to block them" you've got it right there. It is AIV policy (and I for one support it) that no block is given before a final warning, unless in serious circumstances, which I did not believe that those circumstances were. " do not believe they will take note of a final warning any more than the other warnings" in that case a block would have been administered very quickly.
It's fine that you might disagree, many people interpret the guidelines of AIV in many different ways and none of the interpretations are "incorrect", I just happen to be one who tries to follow it to the letter as much as possible. Also, "probably a sockpuppet of another user whom User:Pigsonthewing" in that case it should have been taken to the suspected sockpuppet page, as stated in the green box on AIV.
I hope this gives you an insight into my methods, and I hope you appreciate that I acted as I saw the situation at the time, I apologise if you felt I acted incorrectly. SGGH 15:38, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking the time to respond, I certainly don't think you acted incorrectly, it's just helpful to have an insight into your thinking. My concern was that as this attack seems to be from an established user they are likely to be aware of blocking policy and may, as of course I hope, stop once they get a final warning. Doing so will mean that they will be no consequences of their actions. If the IP is that of an established user, a block on the IP could autoblock their user account and so remind them their behaviour was unacceptable. However, this could of course block innocent users who share the IP. I'm making the assumption that this was an established editor based upon both the targeted nature of their attacks and also the form; an user not familar with Wikipedia is unlikely to prod a user page.
- Anyway, thanks again for your help in understanding your thinking. Adambro 16:08, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thinking about this case a bit more, it is of course important that I remember the purpose of a block, that being to protect Wikipedia and it's users, punishing individuals is less of a concern so it is probably correct to stick with policy. Adambro 16:42, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your recent attempt to help mediate with this user, however, I feel that things have gone so far now, it's not even worth bothering. He has been unwilling to respond to any of my messages on his talk page, and has simply blanked without response. He also has not explained to me what it is about my comments whih he feels to be uncivil, so I cannot help you or him. Sorry, but thanks again for your efforts. Pokeman image deletion review
You recently voted on a templates for deletion discussion on Template:PokeImageNR and several other templates. The result was for deletion. The matter is now before deletion review. Please comment if you would like, one way or the other. The users of the Pokeman Wikiproject believe that their case was not fully heard the first time the matter was up for deletion. So please review the situation if you would like. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 21:47, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

- Thank you. It is a great honour to be presented with the mop and I'll wield it with care. I've started off with some fairly obvious candidates for speedy deletion and simple blocks to get used to using the new buttons. I won't hesitate to look to more experienced admins when necessary.
- I won't be leaving any thank you messages for those who supported my RfA, needless to say I'm grateful for them taking the time to analyse my contributions and having the confidence to support me, I just don't think that would be a constructive use of my time. Thanks again, I look forward to helping the project in new and different ways. Regards. Adambro 10:34, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
