Icelandic Elf School

edit

Would you mind explaining why you keep undoing my edits to Icelandic Elf School? It's not vandalism. There is a documentary called Fucking Different with a segment called "Schwule Elfen" which features Magnús Skarphéðinsson, head of the Icelandic Elf School. In the citation I added, there is a transcript of the segment with Magnús translated into English in which he describes how there are gay and lesbian elves. --Amanojyaku (talk) 15:50, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Author-Lyn Hancock.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 06:20, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I posted no un-sourced, copyrighted, or plagiarized info in my edits of William Henry Harrison High School (Ohio)! The person you keeps editing this does not know what they are doing. As a matter of fact, every bit of what I added had either a link or reference provided. Beyond that, some of what I added that was removed was either links or references! Please don't accuse me of what the person removing my edits is engaged in! Before you accuse me of something, maybe you should investigate my edits. You will quickly see that everyone of them is legitimate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BuckeyeDave (talkcontribs) 23:36, 14 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

In the future, please report offensive (or possibly offensive) usernames to WP:UAA, as you probably could have done in the case of User:Ihateblondes. While the userpage might have qualified as vandalism, a more broad warning for their username might have been in order. Thanks for reporting it anyways. Thanks. Christmas Card

Christmas Card
Christmas is here! (refresh)

File:Wikisanta-no motto.png

Hello my fellow Wikipedians. I wish you all Safe Holidays, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

A Tribute to all contributors:
You keep the content of Wikipedia going and active and mostly right. You're the backbone; that technical personnel back up, and without you, we would lose our jobs. You also have to deal with some of the trials we put you through, but you're doing a great job. So again, Thank you and have a Merry Christmas. -- DQ (t) Merry Chrismasand a Happy New Year!
A Tribute to Rollbackers, Account Creators, Reviewers, and Autoreviewers:
I know your positions the best as I have most of the above stated. Wikipedia would be a trash dump of foul language, sockpuppets, legitimate people who can't create accounts or edit pages, and no additional content being added. Cheers to everyone who helps Wikipedia like this (and doesn't turn bad) who doesn't mop, but scrubs the floor. Now, make sure to take a break and go do some stuff with friends or family. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas. -- DQ (t) Merry Chrismasand a Happy New Year!
A Tribute to all Administrators:
Administrators, you're well appreciated as you mop up the floor and help the non-admins not have to clean up more messes. Your tools along with your judgement are great assets to non-admins. I am suprised how some of you don't just walk away from all the constant harassment and drama. But thank you for sticking to your post and remember to get some sleep these holidays. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas. -- DQ (t) Merry Chrismasand a Happy New Year!
A Tribute to all Oversighters:
Your job doesn't come to a halt with the holidays, you're always on 24/7 call. You're the police out there making sure that you are showing there are people out there protecting us. Your contibutions could be the difference between a very serious threat on ourselves and safe holidays. So thank you for taking on the hard task. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas. -- DQ (t) Merry Chrismasand a Happy New Year!
A Tribute to all Checkusers:
Your job doesn't end just with the holidays, like I said to oversighters above, so your always on 24/7 call. You're the investigators, CIA, FBI, CSIS, and other investigative organizations, constantly protecting us and our environment. We may not see your contributions all the time, but we know there is someone out there looking out for us and protecting behind the scenes - even when we don't know what's going on. So thank you for taking on the hard task. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas. -- DQ (t) Merry Chrismasand a Happy New Year!

Again Safe Holidays and Merry Christmas. -- DQ (t) Merry Chrismasand a Happy New Year! 20:11, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. with the greatest of respect, and no intention of upsetting you, I must say I thought it was highly inappropriate to alter Ssilver's text from "died" to "passed away". Since you did not write it, you should not be editing it. Surely you know this, but if not please indicate and I will look out the appropriate guideline for you. Furthermore, I do not think there is any evidence that KB would have preferred the euphemistic "passed away" to the practical and honest "died", especially since the latter is is recommended by WP:EUPHEMISM. If you do have some serious reason to believe that this substitution was appropriate I would suggest that you take it up with Ssilvers, but that you refrain from editing others' text on that page. Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 22:14, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's okay. I just thought "passed away" would be more gentle then "died". I'll leave it alone though. --Addihockey10e-mail 22:51, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough, and thanks very much for the nice response. I'm sorry I came over a bit snarky! Best wishes, DBaK (talk) 23:30, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Royal standard of King Nicholas I Petrovic of Montenegro.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Royal standard of King Nicholas I Petrovic of Montenegro.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:57, 8 January 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 03:57, 8 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removal of other editors comments

edit

Please don't remove the comments of other editors, as you did here. While you may do so on your own talk page, you shouldn't remove comments on other users talk pages unless they are clearly vandalism, clearly intended to be disruptive, etc. Additionally, I don't see anything that could be uncivil in that comment - perhaps that is why you removed it, and even if it were uncivil, that is not a reason to remove a comment, you may (controversially) remove personal attacks - but simple incivility does not meet that standard. Discussed on IRC - JoeGazz asked me to remove the comments. (shoot - should have made a note in the edit summary) --Addihockey10e-mail 21:56, 9 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion contested: Phoenix Elementary School (Salt Spring)

edit

Hello Addihockey10, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Phoenix Elementary School (Salt Spring), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to schools. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Logan Talk Contributions 23:57, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Question

Hello adopter, I just wanted to ask about on of the CSD criteria concerning G6 which is housekeeping. I just wanted to know what exactly that is. Baseball Watcher 17:01, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Housekeeping is basically deleting pages that do not need no longer need to exist. Housekeeping is rarely in the article namespace - generally daily clean-up categories such as Category:Wikipedia files with the same name on Wikimedia Commons as of 23 August 2010 which can be deleted per C1 or G6. --Addihockey10 e-mail 18:31, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
