If I remember correctly, I spoke with you at the conference and you were interested in checking out copyvio detection. I'd highly recommend that you start editing and enjoy Wikipedia first and not get bogged down by trying to detect copyvios which will mandate your knowledge on Wikipedia policies to a great extent.
