Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, AdrianCubano. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Cuba, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. (CC) Tbhotch 05:05, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, User:Tbhotch. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AdrianCubano (talkcontribs) 05:42, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tr: I'm Cuban and I live in Cuba, but I don't have any conflict with updating Wiki pages that talk about my country. As you will have read, that's what I did. /sig: AC 3 Jun/ (translated by Mathglot (talk) 08:32, 3 June 2021 (UTC))Reply
Hola.

Nuevamente, gracias. AdrianCubano (talk)

Cuba

edit

I've noticed you've made many edits on the Cuba article. Welcome to Wikipedia, and to the Cuba article. Please make sure you understand Wikipedia's policy and guidelines with respect to WP:Verifiability, and the requirement for supporting all your assertions of fact with a citation to a reliable source which backs up your added content. In addition, certain sources are inadmissible, such as Wikipedia itself, whether in English, or as in your edit, from Spanish Wikipedia; these are self-published sources and thus considered not reliable. Another important consideration is that since everything must be verifiable in published material, none of your personal experience, knowledge, or opinions about Cuba based on your residence or citizenship there can be used in the Cuba article, or in any article on Wikipedia. Everything must be cited to a published source, and anything that isn't cited is liable to be removed.

Can you please describe your level of English to me? I notice you responded in Spanish to Tbhotch in the section above. That doesn't pose a problem for me, but as this is English Wikipedia, the language for communication on Talk pages with fellow editors is English. So please use English in your communications here. If there is a particular point that you're not quite sure how to say in English, go ahead and put it in Spanish first, and then add the English as best you can, even if you are unsure how to say it. Someone else can come along later and fix it up for you.

When writing a message on this page, or on an article Talk page, please end your message with four tildes (~~~~); that will add your username and timestamp to the message. Thanks. And once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Mathglot (talk) 08:25, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I wrote for you in spanish, cause you are mexican right ? (at least, that the info on your personal info). Do you need i write for u in english language ? Not problem. Now, Could you explain me why did you reversed the changes that i did in Cuba article, specifically in the "Media" section ? Its just an actualization in a section with a lot of old information (and misinformation also, specially citing sources well known by his attacks against Cuba ) and I put cuban websites as a proof of the lies about the sell of computers in Cuba. How could I DELETE that lies ?. By the way, Im working in Wikipedia since years ago, and for example, the articles about cuban military, or the cuban special forces, were started by me. Thanks by your messages, and the technical details. In the next hours I will add new content to the music section, were "Celia Cruz" o "Gloria Estefan" are cited, although they ARE NOT the most representatives figures of the cuban music. Because, for example, Gloria Estefan NEVER made career on Cuba and Celia Cruz left Cuba 60 years ago. AdrianCubano (talk) 11:25, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
