Proposed deletion of Our Great Globe

edit

The article Our Great Globe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No attempt to assert notability. Can not find any secondary sources online. wp:gng.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 174.109.197.174 (talk) 04:19, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Our Great Globe

edit

Please add references, or at the very least a statement asserting some sort of notability, to Our Great Globe, as you indicated you would when contesting the proposed deletion. In its current state, the article is simply a promotional blurb for what appears to be a completely unremarkable game. Without such assertion of notability, I will take the article to WP:AFD for a community discussion on whether to delete it. Thanks, 174.109.197.174 (talk) 13:16, 23 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Apologies I thought you were Aaron, see below. Life has been getting in the way, been a little busy but did have some time to look at how other board games were written up. If I take the game Trouble, Timberland or Transamerica just to randomly choose the letter T the content seems about the same or less and does not have any notability type references. Could you advise if these games and probrobaly most of the other board games listed should also be treated in the same way? I love board games especially new ones. I was thinking of turning my attention next to the list of other board games in wikipedia with some sort of standard format for all of them ie history, developers, versions, players, category, etc. What do you think ... might be a big bite. By the way is there anything else I can improve on this one or is it written up correctly, appreciate the feedback? ie amount of content relative to its current profile. While Trouble (board game) doesn't look much better, the difference is that it can be improved: there are plenty of references to be found. I don't know if that can be said about Timberland (board game) or TransAmerica (board game). That they are published by notable companies/people gives them a head start, as reviewers are more likely to look at them. If I knew a way that Our Great Globe could be improved I wouldn't have proposed its deletion: the current state of an article is not what matters in this regard, only what it could become. I will proceed with WP:AFD on the weekend, or early next week. 174.109.199.154 (talk) 14:29, 25 November 2010 (UTC) My IP has been reassigned - I'm the same editor as 174.109.197.174.Reply

Our Great Globe Dear Aaron, Thanks for your review and feedback on the Our Great Globe page. I'll hunt down some additional references and secondary sources and third party publications to beef up the notability. Though not really notable in the USA yet the game is rapidly increasing in notability in Australia. Cheers. Please let me know if you think the article needs anything else. Appreciate you advice. You have me confused with someone else. I have never seen that page. Aaron north (T/C) 14:46, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
