Accidental rollback of counter-vandalism
Hi, and apologies. I was rollbacking the edit that said that "that was crazy" and accidentally rollbacked too late and then it reverted your counter-vandalism edit. Please remove my warning in error from your talk page, and I'm sorry about that accident. Best regards, Redactyll Letsa taco 'bou it, son! 21:29, 18 December 2018 (UTC) 21:29, 18 December 2018 (UTC) P.S. that warning is no longer valid, please ignore and remove.

You've been doing a wonderful job stopping vandalism in its tracks. Good work, agent, you're cleared for deployment into the cookie room. On a more notable note, thank you for reverting my accidental rollback I made in error. You've earned this. Best regards, Redactyll Letsa taco 'bou it, son! 21:41, 18 December 2018 (UTC) |
- thanks very much :) hope to see your name pop up beating me to reverts as well :D Agent00x (talk) 21:43, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- Ah, don’t worry, get yourself into Huggle 3.4.4 and then prepare to when a split second behind the reverted edit being reverted again given no warning and the software rollbacks. Rollback is interesting because if someone reverts it while you click the rollback button then it reverts the most recent edit without confirmation, the reason why Twinkle is honestly better 😛
- On a side note, you with a good request writing session could manage to get yourself rollback easily, as well as being a good candidate for pending changes reviewer. I’d personally say that if I was an administrator you’d very well meet the requirements for these and I’d give them to you if you did a RFP for rollback and pending changes, but you would do well with those two rights. I’d strongly encourage you get these bits, as you could work much faster and efficiently. You’d do well with these rights, and they’d almost surely be granted to you if you requested. Best regards, Redactyll Letsa taco 'bou it, son! 04:48, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
- thanks for that :). I'm going to wait till I have at least 200 mainspace edits though Agent00x (talk) 07:54, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

Self-reverted warning for non-existent issue
Greetings, it's Redactyll, and I wish to speak about an "improper humor" warning you gave me. First off, please provide a diff next time and explain the issue, as there was no examples or explanation of what I did wrong. You should next time keep in mind the WP generally agreed upon community non-rule, which is "don't template the regulars," and I'd appreciate if you could next time attempt to communicate with me about the issue. The second thing I'd like to ask is why you self-deleted the warning, this makes no sense, may I ask why the warning was deleted? Thank you, from the inquisitive mastermind. Best regards, Redactyll Letsa taco 'bou it, son! 22:03, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- Also, keep up the anti-vandalism work! I'd recommend that you go ahead and ask for manual permission to use STiki, as you're doing wonderfully, and I'm excited to see the new heights you bring Wikipedia to. Best regards, Redactyll Letsa taco 'bou it, son! 22:03, 20 December 2018 (UTC) 22:03, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- It all stemmed from the "that's crazy (:O)" edit the other day [1], I didn't know what was going on, it looked like an edit that was meant to be amusing so I put up that template. I didn't know I originally reverted that then you accidentally reverted me. When I looked in the history and saw it was an accident I removed my template. Sorry about that Agent00x (talk) 22:07, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- It’s all fine. On the other hand, you should mark that kind of edit as “unconstructive editing” instead of joke edit, a joke edit would be something like putting “Why did the chicken cross the road? A....” in an article. Both work but unconstructive editing is the better template for that kind of offense. You are now a rollbacker
Hi Agent00x! I've been running into you in recent changes patrolling and I happened to notice that you don't have the rollback user rights. I hope you don't mind, but I went through your contributions and I noticed that you're quite active in recent changes patrolling, and you consistently view and undo vandalism and disruption to articles. I believe that rollback would be useful for you to have and that you'd make good use of the tool. Instead of having you formally request rollback at WP:PERM, I went ahead and just gave it to you. This user right allows you to quickly revert the edits of other users in cases of blatant vandalism.
Please keep these things in mind at all times when using rollback to revert edits:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle. It just adds a "[Rollback]" button next to a page's latest edits - that's all.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and never used to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war. If it is abused or used for this purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask.
For more information on the user rights and how to use rollback, see this tutorial page.
I'm sure you'll do fine with rollback - it's a pretty straight-forward user right and it doesn't drastically change the interface you're used to, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into any questions, have any issues or troubles, or if you run into a revision or situation where you're not sure if using rollback is appropriate or not, and I'll be more than happy to help you. If you no longer want the rollback user rights, let me know and I'll be happy to remove it for you. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism - it's a very thankless job to perform and I want you to know that it doesn't go unnoticed and that I appreciate it very much. Happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:49, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- that's awesome, I thought I would have to wait a bit more before applying, many thanks Oshwah :) Agent00x (talk) 23:50, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

Use of "Widespread" not always nonconstructive
Hello, re this edit, I'd just like to let you know that the use of "widespread" did not automatically make the edit nonconstructive. However, in this case, the phrase "widespread critical acclaim" may be incorrect because the phrasing is directly from Metacritic, but it was likely a good faith mistake by the user who didn't realize that. If you are using Huggle, in the future you can also leave a specific edit summary stating something like "specific wording" when something like this comes up. Just letting you know. Cheers, Hummerrocket (talk) 01:50, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
119.92.14.102
Hi Agent. I saw you pulled a report at AIV because I declined another report. Please remember that reports are usually different. The one I declined was because the evidence did not support naked spamming. Anyways I checked out the contrib log of 119.92.14.102 including their deleted contribs. This guy is all over the place. A lot of their drafts have been deleted but they are on really diverse subjects like some of McDonald's breakfast sandwiches. So if this is a spam only account I am having a hard time figuring out who they are promoting. It's possible that there could be CIR issues here. But this is an IP address. Unlike with an actual registered user long term blocks are rather rare and they haven't been formally warned that their editing is disruptive. Anyways, just thought I'd drop you a line. Thanks for keeping an eye out for disruptive editors. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:25, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
- yeah, I saw your decline and was having second thoughts, as you say it's not a sole promotion of one thing, but all kinds of things. I forgot to mention it in my summary, but my main reason for dropping it was because they made a post at the teahouse too asking for help, though that draft is beyond saving. Agent00x (talk) 00:29, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
- oh yeah, also, I also saw this warning from Jim [2], but then noticed he said to stop spamming McDonalds specifically, rather than the one he was working on (although indefinitely blocking an IP? Not sure about that :s). Agent00x (talk) 01:03, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
Pending changes reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Hi, Thanks for pointing out some nonconstructive edits from our IP, performed by a visiting friend of our child. We've taken actions to restrict internet use. content removal
Hi, Agent00x
I removed that content because I was informed very recently that Guinness imposes licensing fees on the use of its name, and I have no idea if that includes inclusion in Wikipeida articles. I queried them a long, long time ago about using their name on my Youtube channel, etc., but they never provided me with a satisfactory answer until a few days ago, so in the interim I assumed there would be no problem with writing out their name- I knew their LOGO can't be used without a license, but I mistakenly assumed that use of their NAME on Wikipedia, or anywhere else, as long as money isn't involved, would not constitute commercial use. In addition to that, their licensing department can be really hard to reach- so if you want to keep that excerpt on my page up, you might want to consult someone else from Wikipedia who knows what GWR's official policy is regarding the inclusion of their name in articles. Please let me know if there are any updates.
thanks,
Dr8ator (talk) 11:14, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hi User:Dr8ator, many thanks for the explanation. I assume it has been ok to use the name as we do have an article on the Guiness World Records themselves. Yes, as you say, it's usually the logo that may require a licence, but it's not really an area I know much about. Take care Agent00x (talk) 16:17, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
I'm going to temporarily remove the entry about Guinness on my own Wikipedia article again, just to be safe, and contact Guinness in the meantime, to determine whether it's OK to have it there without licensing. Personally, I think it's absurd that they should charge (1000 £,$, etc.) for licensing just the words "Guinness World Records", but they do precisely that for Youtube videos, so the same just might apply for Wikipedia as well. I'll keep you updated when I get an answer from them, if indeed I manage to.
Regards,

content removal
Hi, Agent00x
The LitRPG wikipedia page lists several authors that do not write in this genre and are not good examples of it. Also, the origins of the genre can stem back to either russia or korea depending on whom you ask. I removed content because it was incorrect. I appreciate any help in resolving this.

Hi. Why fo you guys remove the list of vogue portugal models ? Do you you guys take any research before ?
- Hi there. I had a look at our editing history and the only thing I did was revert an edit you made where you appeared to remove most of an article, I assume this was by accident. New Page Reviewing
Hello, Agent00x.
I've seen you editing recently and you seem like an experienced Wikipedia editor. |
Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

I removed your speedy tag on User:ConnorAnagram/sandbox since I was actively working with the COI editor to bring their contributions into line with NCORP. - That's ok. I just felt, when reading through, that the promotion was so blatant that they would have to effectively start over. There are still some issues, which appear to have already been highlighted on the page, but it's not blatant anymore. Agent00x (talk) 16:04, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

The note at the bottom of history section was a reminder to those that are maliciously edits making false accusations and personal attacks on my name to behave. How can this page be protected or atleast semi protected or best case scenario to delete the page entirety? David T S Clunie (talk) 21:29, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- As this is the encyclopedia that anyone can edit, generally speaking, pages are not protected in order to allow anyone to insert reliably sourced content. However, if you notice that your page is frequently being vandalised, you can apply for page protection. The instructions are at WP:RFPP. Please note though, pages must be getting vandalised, or content that does not follow our BLP guidelines is being regularly inserted, for page protection to be considered. Also, the vandalism will need to be frequent enough over a short space of time that blocking an individual alone will not solve the problem. Also, admins won't protect your page if individuals are inserting content that you do not like if it is backed up by reliable sources. I hope this helps. Agent00x (talk) 11:31, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- A good example of a page needing temporary protection is Thank_God_(film), see [3] and look at all the edits from today causing vandalism. Agent00x (talk) 22:11, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
