Hi Aggie80
You rejected my first Wiki article created last night due to "no independent sources to confirm notability. Review requirements at link above and rework in proper tone and format.".
However, I referred to various independent websites and a photo of a newspaper article referring to Norman Metcalfe's success in Irish road raccing.
These included: http://www.belfastguzzi.com/Home/racing-in-ulster--the-early-years/development-of-road-racing-in-ulster http://www.motorsportstatistik.com/Rennsportstatistik-international/UlsterGP/UlsterGP_Top-3.htm
Indeed there are other sources referring to his successes including: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_moto_d'Ulster http://www.motorrad-autogrammkarten.de/motorradsport-statistik/serien/events/ulster-gp.html http://www.irishroadracing.co.uk/ugphistory/1922.html http://www.irishbikerforum.com/forums/index.php?app=forums&module=forums§ion=printtopic&client=printer&f=76&t=87931
Can you explain what I need to do to get this accepted?
Your urgent response would be appreciated

- You have no proper citations in the article. Visit WP:REF for help with what is acceptable and how to format them for use in the article. You might also want to review some existing articles to determine layout and formatting. The proper use of pictures, and what must be done to get them accepted on the site, is important, note that photos from newspapers and other web sites are copyright violations and cannot be accepted. Wikipedia articles are not appropriate references. The article is in more of an essay format than a neutral worded encyclopedia. Indeed you have other sources, use them! - OK, I have found a couple of websites I can use as a reference. I will add them on my Sandbox and submit for review again. Yozer1 (talk) 14:43, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
- I added independent sources from the internet. Yozer1 (talk) 16:24, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

- Aggie80, you may want to address a few issues with this article-to-be.
- Any sources published by Sebil Yayınevi can not be considered neutral since even the article states, "....the founder of Sebil Yayınevi (Sebil Publishing House)". Per:self published sources.
- Violation of cherry picking of information from Histories of the Modern Middle East: New Directions, ed. by I. Gershoni, Y. Hakan Erdem, Ursula Woköck, page 208. The page clearly states, "...argues Kadir Misiroglu, a much-imprisoned Islamist lawyer and amateur historian...".[1] The fact that Fatma Muge Gocek calls him an "amateur historian" somehow seems to have not made it into the article. Odd.
- Islam and the Politics of Secularism: The Caliphate and Middle Eastern Modernization in the early 20th century, Nurullah Ardic, page 338, calls Kadir Misiroglu a writer, not a historian.
- Appears to be a TV station? [2]
- As such, 2, 3 & 4 clearly reference, "He is known for his uncommon insights into the events of the late Ottoman and early Republican periods." which is the opinion of an amateur historian and if said sentence stays in the article, it should clearly mention this.
- The self published sources can not be used and Yozer1 should look for sources outside of Turkish television and Sebil Publishing House. As it stands now, the entire article is a plethora of cherry picking and POV pushing using self published sources. --Kansas Bear (talk) 21:39, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

- [[3]] It's pretty basic, no references, no notability. What makes this company important enough for an article in an encyclopedia? Some of the basic helps can assist in writing an article. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk)
Understood. I will get references. The business owner played basketball for Australia, is one of only two Australians to have qualified as a Crisis Negotiator at the FBI and has hostage negotiating qualifications at the anti-terrorist level so their is definitely notability. I will make the submission more clear and dig deep for the references. What I fail to understand is how https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_Resolution_Network,_Australia can be successfully listed without references?

- Note that the owner doesn't make a company notable. Perhaps the owner is the one that should have an article. As for the other article you noted, it is marked as having no references and has been marked for deletion as no one has provided any for a long period of time. - It isn't up to us to validate information through email. You need to provide substantial references from unrelated sources to establish notability. Take a look at good articles, B-class or above, and see how they are sourced and written. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk)
Hi, Thx for your reply. What can we do if we are not able to produce unrelated references to establish notability? Can I change article type or something to have wiki presence for my website? Since it's a new website of course establishing any reference would take time. Please help. Thanks again!

- Wikipedia is not an advertising or web site search engine. Until a subject has become notable it doesn't get an entry. Would the Britannica include the subject in its pages? Not at this point. Until the subject has third party references, it doesn't meet the criteria. Press releases and the subject's own site are not adequate. (It helps if you sign your messages, use four tildes to get it autosigned with a link to your talk page.)The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 11:57, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
David Camm third trial
Can you give me more information on why you said "No indication of anything notable about the crime or trial that makes it stand out from other similar items."? The case is a very big one and one that is notable already--are you saying that the case itself isn't notable or that my article doesn't convey that notability? Bulfin
Hello Aggie 80 This is User Carrickaccrossthebog re Article on Michael Bulfin.
Apologies I should have added in the list of references from my CV which I have now added/ I am Michael Bulfin and can verify the details given in this article as dates and events come directly from my CV. I should point out that I am a member of AOSDANA which "The Arts Council established Aosdána in 1981 to honour artists whose work has made an outstanding contribution to the arts in Ireland". Hope this clarifies the situation. Hi, I submitted the article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/DeutschmanDesign and it was refused for copyright violation. Can you be more specific and tell me which part? Also, is the article somewhere for me to edit it or do I have to rewrite it ands create all the links again?
Thanks, Ina Inahillebrand (talk) 17:40, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Leah Danielle submission rejection
My submission was rejected due to the need for more citations. There are videos of my performances with Andrea Bocelli and with David Foster both notable artists. There is also a reference to my participating in the soundtrack of a major motion picture. I thought these would be sufficient for inclusion in Wikipedia. I noted that Jennifer Zetlan who is included did not have anything more than I noted. Can you please comment why mine was rejected given Jennifer's page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leahbee7 (talk • contribs) 16:17, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
- Videos and self web sites are not sufficient to create notability. And note that Jennifer Zetlan has been marked for review and possible deletion for the same reasons. The best thing to do is to review the requirements for musical notability (link in the pink box on the draft) and make sure they are met. And there is also the problem of Conflict of Interest, submitting an article on one's self. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 16:53, 11 January 2014 (UTC).
Rejected because of Reliable resources
My article was declined because of less reliable sources. When I searched up on internet it said wiki does not accept blogs, personal websites, personal wikis or even wikipedia articles as reliable sources. I wrote about a temple complex in my country where I live. Not much information can be found on websites about it.Hence I could only post images of the place. It would be of great help if someone pointed me out what kind of reliable resources that can be referred. Thank You!

- Yes, the lack of references is a critical failure. There are a lot of formatting issues as well. Review WP:REFB and WP:CHEAT for some help in those areas. One of the problems of looking at another article is that they are often not correct either. Unless it is rated as a B-Class or above, I wouldn't rely on them. Notability
Hey, Aggie80,
I'm new to Wikipedia and I'm intending on writing several articles related to notable and influential from Alabama. This was my first attempt at an article, so be patient with me. That being said: there may be a problem with the references, but the individual in question is the president of an internationally-renowned medical school. Is that not notable? Especially since some of the university's former presidents are already listed in Wikipedia. Also, several other university presidents have Wikipedia pages. The references provided are from independent sources.
Would a paraphrased rewrite help? Alabama Influences (talk) 19:37, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
- Take a look at WP:REFB for the basics on referencing. The organization that employs the individual is not an independent source. And a web site that is set up for marketing is not considered appropriate either. It may very well be that he is notable, but there are no unrelated references to establish it. Newspaper articles, journals and similar references are what need to be provided. They don't even have to be available online, but need that independence of source. Good luck! The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 19:56, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Your point on the marketing website is taken; however, it does give pertinent and independent information about the subject. Maybe running down these sources is called for. As for the organization employing the individual providing information about the individual: here is a Wikipedia entry that does just that about the head of another major university. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Gogue
That being so: I think you will understand my dilemma on your problem with notability. Especially since I studied the coding and format of this particular individual to help me understand how Wikipedia works. Alabama Influences (talk) 20:18, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Duster Don Hoffman
Hi,
I am new to wikipedia editing and am looking for suggestions for how to reference and verify the notability of Don Hoffman's achievements. Don is the most renowned disc golf enthusiast in Wisconsin. He was inducted into the Professional Disc Golf Association Hall of Fame in 2011. He is a member of the Course Designers Group, the Disc Golf Foundation, founder and president of the Wisconsin Disc Sports Association, and founder and president emeritus of the Mad City Disc Golf Club. I am working on a project to recognize several of our most notable people from several Wisconsin disc sports that have dedicated their lives to promoting disc sports in Wisconsin. We are also creating an online archive for Wisconsin Disc Sports events, achievements and people at http://widischistory.com.
What I am looking for here is simply a suggestion of where the verifiable references are located and how to include them in the listing for Don Hoffman at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Discoverwisc/sandbox

- That's the challenge! Finding verifiable references that are not self created, or created by those with a close relationship to the subject that can validate the claims of notability. WP:REFB is a basic reference primer that will help understand what types of sources are needed. Newspaper articles and magazines, other web sites, such as the international disc web site? - There are limited references and they are not inline to support the claims. WP:REFB can provide the basic format and requirements. Limited indication that this is a recognized school of thought. The section marked 'Content' does not have any content in it, just an outline and this is not the place to put an outline. It appears more to be the start of a school essay than an article in an encyclopedia. Grammar needs improvement. The book is obviously the focal point as the article has been submitted by one of the authors, a problem with WP:COI, which given the limited references is going to be hard to overcome. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 12:58, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi Aggie80, Having made improvements concerning the article about the philosopher Claudio Costa in my Sandbox I would like to resubmit the current version but do not find any button for this. Or should I leave the sandbox and publish the content with a new article? Thanks for your help in advance, best from FriederFrieder Schlichting (talk) 11:59, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

- You've got your work cut out for you! First problem is establishing notability. The few references provided at are either blogs or belong to the organization with little in the others. There needs to be something that would make people interested in the club outside of the members. The 59 Club article is well written, factual, and provides numerous references from unrelated parties (The Times, BBC). The types of bikes being ridden and favorite movies adds nothing to the article. 'Click here' is not appropriate, that's why there is the External Links section, the article is supposed to provide all the basic info. It isn't even an official organization. Re: Walt Weiskopf
Hello Aggie. I reviewed a number of Wikipedia entries for other jazz artists and didn't see any footnotes. I have asked the artist (Walt) to provide footnotes, but I'd hope they are far less necessary in a biography-type article than in something like a science or history article. The subject is listed at AllMusic and other jazz sources. Beyond that, are there any particluar facts in the bio that you think need footnoting?
Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ardee00 (talk • contribs) 18:39, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- He's living, that means all information has to be footnoted and verifiable. Allmusic is not a good reference, as it can be self edited, like Wikipedia. If other articles are not footnoted, they may be candidates for deletion for not being verifiable, be careful of what you use for a reference, you want a Class A or above article. It would be good to get other references about him that are not written by him or his listing on music. Reviews of his music, more specific information about him (where he was born, education, etc.) would be nice. I think he is notable due to his body of work, but it appears to be more volume than award winning or sales numbers. Review the requirements for notability at WP:MUSIC for specifics. I'm guessing that he meets 5, 6 and 7 (which is why it was not declined for lack of notability), but needs to be referenced. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 18:52, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Works List of Saint-Georges music, rejected
I would like to know how I can reformat it so that it can be accepted. What was wrong, was it the pictures of the concerto incipits? I would love to get them in better, but don't know how. They are from a book of which we hold the copyright. The research is thorough, carried out mostly in Paris at libraries and archives. I would like to amend the article also, as it has many incorrect statements in it. Dsteveb (talk) 00:44, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
- The article I declined was [4] which is a three sentence biography with no references. And copyright material can only be used on Wikipedia if the copyright is released to the general public, so you might want to review those requirements before attempting to post pictures from other locations. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 01:24, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi Aggie,
While working on references for you I couldn't clear my sandbox, so I started a new one, Kikodiana. Now when I tried to resubmit the introduction with footnotes, it went in with that name, but we are the same person. I did re-submit it with footnotes, and in the near future would like to change the Music section, which was incorrect, including incipits of the concertos, because in the 18th century there was no copyright law, and various publishers put them out, sometimes the same ones. I created them on a computer, so there is no copyright problem, and I would love to have them out there to clarify things. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dsteveb (talk • contribs) 20:24, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
re: NETA-CET page
Dear Aggie80,
Thank you for your note. The entry we submitted is a brief factual description of the program with a link to the program website. We may not be “notable” in the English language press (although we are attaching a 2005 article about the program) but that is not really the nature of our program. The program is used world-wide and people do try to look us up so we wanted to have a go-to Wikipedia entry.
We respectfully request that our entry be accepted. Please feel free to get back to us with any questions.

I have pictures of the artist Beny's Tchaicovsky 3d images and photos which I hold the copyright and can upload to his bio.I believe that he has enough notability to be on wikipedia. He was one of the pioneers in the use of Computer technology as an Art form, he has won the first multimedia contestat the Cannes Film Festival in 1996, his winning image was in billboards all over Paris, I have an image of the billboard to upload to the bio page, etc.... - I really don't think it possible to show notability. Without independent references there is little that can be done to establish it. YouTube and Omegle are not references that can be used to establish it. An anonymous prank caller doesn't appear to be the sort of thing to be part of an encyclopedia. - Thanks for the Barnstar! Part of the challenge is that Wikipedia is not the place for original research or experimental results. Article on Jaipur Inc
Hi,
Thanks for reviewing the article about Jaipur Inc that I had previously submitted. As per the e-mail that I have received, the
submission has not been accepted because it included copyrighted content. I would further wish to know as to which part of the content was a copyrighted content because as far as my knowledge goes, I have used original content that we created for the website of the company and cannot figure out which part of the content was an adapted one.
I seek your help in this and the next steps as to how I can re-do the content for the company page.

Hi,
I am new to contributing to wikipedia. Please help me understand certain points-
1. I am an employee of organic shop and Jaipur Inc authorized by the management to post content on behalf of both the companies. The founder of both the companies is Manuj Terapanthi. I have been assigned to look after the wikipedia content for Jaipur Inc on behalf of my company, which is organic shop. How do I work this out internally to get my company to ensure that I am permitted to use the official website content of Jaipur Inc for wikipedia? Is there a procedure to the same?
2. Similarly, we would also want to share information about our company- Organic Shop on wikipedia. Would there be similar issues with the same? Can I use the same ID for posting the article on Organic Shop on wikipedia?
Please help me with this and apologies for my limited scope of knowledge.
Look forward to your reply.
Regards, Ritika
- Just because a shop exists is not enough make it notable. It is going to be a fairly big challenge for you to show that they meet the notability requirements for an article on Wikipedia. It is not a directory or phone book to contain everything in the world. Make sure that WP:ORG can be met. Look at WP:CV for information on copyright violations and how rights can be released. Be sure and avoid any marketing words and any information that is not fully substantiated by third party references.
new article about James Dinwiddie
Hi - I had some questions about the James Dinwiddie article that you rejected. I believe the article was rejected on the grounds that is is too similar to another page (http://www.library.dal.ca/DUASC/FindingAids/MS_2_726/). The article was in fact intended to reflect the information on that page. I am a librarian at Dalhousie University and I am currently piloting a project to write wikipedia entries for unique items in our collections. This is why I included most of the text from our finding aid and cited the collection in my entry. It would be a waste of time to completely re-write the descriptions that we already have on our website, which is why I made minimal changes to the text other than some simple wikipedia mark-up. I wonder if you might re-consider your rejection of the article. I will continue to edit, fine tune and an add in some visual content from the archival collection over time.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions or concerns. --Dallibs (talk) 13:32, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

- Please review WP:CV about copyright and how they must be addressed. Wikipedia is very sensitive about any apparent violation and has to keep very clean hands. It will explain what needs to be done to release the copyright. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 13:35, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for considering the article. You ask for third party references, but the article already contains reference links to Newspapers including a National Daily. I've added the citation -- a piece came in OpenSource For You international magazine. Unfortunately, others are in Malayalam language. You can try something like machine translation to verify them. Or ask a Keralite to translate whom do you trust. Please let me know what can I do.

Re: Jia Ji
Hi Aggie80. Thank you for the review. I could use a little assistance for this is my first attempt on an article.
In reference to your responses, I am not the subject to the article. He is a prominent figure in the entrepreneurial world with a focus on technology. My attempt was to get a page started so others more skilled than I at writing in Wikipedia could edit it as needed. (Reponse to WP: COI)
(Response to Notibility and also perhaps WP:REFB to establish notibility) I have included many articles written about the individual with some chronicling his accomplishments from Independent sources such as NYTimes, Wall Stree Journal, Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Doesn't this qualify for independent sources? This is a very limited selection of countless articles of notabilities surely the network would be able to provide more efficiently than I. Is there a way for others to contribute to the editing and creation of the article during development, or does it have to be approved first to be posted?
Again, this is attempt to get the article started for network collaboration to increase quality? Otherwise, it's seemingly an unobtainable task to make it perfect to meet your approval despite my attempt to get it started so others can help. (I've seen so many articles with far lesser qualities posted therefore I thought this was a good start for this notable figure in the community.)
Thank you so much for your help and assistance. I await your response so additional efforts are focused as you deem necessary and my attempts aren't futile.
Sincerely,
Ryan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proactiveprodigy (talk • contribs) 23:08, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- Review the link I sent you on WP:REFB on how to format references. Living individuals have to have inline citations to confirm claims of notability. It is better to get the basics resolved before going live. It keeps the article from being flagged for deletion. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 01:27, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Aggie80, Thank you for the reply. I have cleaned up the references, tried to rewrite to a neutral/factual tone, and tried to link or make more obvious mentions of notoriety such as the companies he started (which several are already on Wikipedia), his TED Talks, international acknowledgements all from independent sources such as Wall Street Journal, NYTimes, Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Wired Magazine, etc. which go into detail of chronologically noting his notable accomplishments.
I hope this attempt clears up your request so others can continue to add content and other accomplishments. I am limited in my individual availability to make this perfect, but hope to get your approval for this submission to receive the help of the Wiki community for the purpose it was created for, Collaborative Editorial Documentation of Historical and Factual information. Thank you so much. I look forward to your response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proactiveprodigy (talk • contribs) 04:40, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

Regarding Auto Middle East page
Greetings Aggie80,
My name is Zaran and go by the username 'zaran13' on Wikipedia.
I have tried several times to successfully upload my page 'Auto Middle East' but keep getting rejected.
1) The first time I was told that 'this submission's references do not adequately evidence the subject's notability', so I took that into account and created four references using the Harvard referencing format.
2) The second time I was told that 'No significant change since last submission' which is incorrect because a pictorial timeline of the website was added, along with a total of four references from top Middle Eastern agencies such as AME info and Zawya.
The article is currently under review, but should I get rejected again, I'd be grateful for a clear reason as to what is lacking or needs improvement because as of now, I have tried everything from my end.
Appreciate your support in this matter,
Regards

- Three of the references are press releases, which are created and issued by the subject. Even the 4th reference is predominantly a quote from the owner of the company about an event the subject is sponsoring. What is required are independent, third-party sources. If the site is so popular, other sites and sources must be talking about it. Site reviews comparing it with other sites, articles on the company, something else must exist.
