Edits to University of Massachusetts Dartmouth
editHi. When you're editing Wikipedia please remember that it's supposed to be an encyclopedia that reports in a neutral fashion what reliable sources say about a subject. These sources should be written by third parties and should be independent of the subject. So while you can use the university for basic factual information, you can't use it for information like one of the College of Engineering’s greatest strengths in its research programs
. Also saying something like The Liberal Arts Major is a good fit for the student interested in a variety of academic fields and who craves the intellectual challenge of thinking about the ways they converge and diverge in approaches to pressing issues and problems
isn't appropriate for an encyclopedia article.
Similarly, any sort of information on course requirements doesn't belong in Wikipedia. Not only is it impossible to keep up to date, it's not the sort of information anyone should be getting from an informal, potentially unreliable source. Finally, Wikipedia articles aren't supposed to give advice or speak directly to the readers - if you use first or second person, you're almost certainly getting the tone wrong.
