Chatham Granite Club
editHi! I wanted to drop you a note about the article. I've made a few changes to the article, specifically in that I replaced the table infobox with one specifically made for curling. I also wanted to drop a note about sourcing - you have a lot of primary sources (things released by the club or people/organizations affiliated with them) but not that many independent, secondary sources. You should also avoid using Wikipedia as a source in articles, as Wikipedia cannot source itself. The reason for this is that anyone can edit Wikipedia, so even if the page is correct, it's still not seen as a verifiable source.
I also had a bit of a question - you uploaded File:Chatham Granite Club Logo.png as something that you created yourself. You need to be careful about copyright with images like this because even if you were the one who created and designed the logo, the Club itself is likely the copyright owner of the image. This means that this image would likely be considered non-free unless they specifically upload it to Wikipedia. The reason why they may not do this is because releasing it under a Creative Commons License compatible with Wikimedia Commons would require that they relinquish some of their control - they wouldn't be able to prevent other people from using it commercially without their permission, for example. If it was something that you took from a website, then it would be considered a copyright issue because anything that was previously published elsewhere is considered to be automatically held under copyright. I was just curious as to the copyright status of this. There's more about this in the images and media training module. It's a pretty quick read through overall, if you would look through it. - Other than that, it looks like you added some much needed information to the article! It's a good start! Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 20:26, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry! I was on my main account when I posted that - that's still me. (If you're curious, I named myself after an Ace of Base song. I was a pretty big fan of theirs.) Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:34, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
