Hi. Got some bad news for you. Although you've done nothing wrong with your editing, and although we very much appreciate your being open regarding your role with the Observatory, your username is unacceptable. The username implies that this account is being used by the staff of the Observatory as a whole: that if you and the Observatory should one day go your separate ways, then the account would be bestowed upon your successor instead of remaining with you.

That's not permitted, for a variety of reasons. Any given Wikipedia account is to be used by only one person, with no sharing. I recommend that you post a request on Wikipedia:Changing usernames to have the account renamed so that it more correctly identifies you as a single individual. Your userpage can state "Hi, I am <whatever name you choose>, and I work for the Airdrie Observatory" or something to that effect.

Sorry for the inconvenience. DS (talk) 20:52, 13 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, Airdrieobservatoryofficial. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Airdrie Public Observatory, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 22:10, 17 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Airdrie Public Observatory, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Airdrie. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 21:05, 20 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

The file File:Converted file 98f44052-2.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
