Not all lists make sensible templates
editThis clumsy box signals a basic misunderstanding of the point of these templates: here's a big box at the bottom of each page, with no source for Plutarch's text. This is material for References. The only article where such a list of the subjects of Plutarch's Lives is relevant in the least, is at Plutarch. What does it do for the Wikipedia reader to see a box with a list of other people with vitae by Plutarch? Doubtless, the editor who created this box will think this is simply my opinion. --Wetman 15:23, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Long time no see!
editGood to see you back!
Valfontis (talk) 15:57, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed, welcome back! I looked through this page's history, but did not see you being properly welcomed to WP:ORE before. So here you go:
Welcome to WikiProject Oregon! If you'd like, you can add the WP Oregon userbox to your user page using this code: {{User WikiProject Oregon}}. Check out the ongoing and archived discussions at WT:ORE and be sure to add the page to your Watchlist. If you are new to Wikipedia, it's a good idea to browse through the core principles of Wikipedia as well. The project home page at WP:ORE has many useful links to get you started. The recent changes and recent discussions links will display recent edits on articles within the project's scope. Welcome!
Incorrect content
editI removed the content from that page, because it had no sources to back it up. Obviously, someone who put it there thought it was a joke to mention Mormons fighting Mongols with flying machines and other stupidities. Let's take things seriously. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.228.224.183 (talk) 10:30, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out - you're absolutely correct! :) I reverted my own changes on Burgruine Rosegg. Thanks for your help in keeping Wikipedia vandalism-free! -- akendall 10:35, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
I've changed your db-nonsense to db-web. It's in Malay or Indonesian, and about a blog. When you come up against something you can't understand at all, it's likely to be in some form of Foreign. (If it's written in wiggly letters, it IS in foreign.) Copy some or all of it into Google Translate and set it to auto detect. It doesn't recognise all languages, so if nothing remotely like a translation appears, copy some of the text into Google search with quotes. If the whole thing is found off-wiki, it's probably a copyvio. If not, remove the quotes. If the words come up, look down the list for a clue to language by the domains. Of course, if it's something like ytrtcyttlgc or rererertrextrextr, it is nonsense, and things like "aardvark spin collusion cream fire-iron" can be nonsense or simply very bad machine translations. Nonsense other than the trtreewzrezwrewqqq type is rare. Most of it is Foreign. Peridon (talk) 11:41, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tips! "Aardvark spin collusion cream fire-iron" is awesome, by the way. :) -- akendall 12:12, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Agneepath Box Office Data
editHey, the figures reported on that website were nett, not gross. Also, nett means after tax deduction as per http://www.thefreedictionary.com/nett I keep a lookout on the page and am trying to combat vandals. In reality, the box office data should be like this:
Agneepath collected ₹21.76 crore (US$2.6 million) on the opening day, breaking the record of the first day collections of Bodyguard. The film also set new circuit records in Mumbai, CP Berar, Nizam, and Mysore.[1] However, it witnessed an unprecedented fall on its second day, dropping by almost 50%, and collected ₹11 crore (US$1.3 million) nett.[2] The film managed to recover a bit on Saturday and netted around ₹12.50 crore (US$1.5 million).[3] Agneepath recovered even more on Sunday and grossed ₹62.11 crore (US$7.4 million) nett over its extended four-day weekend.[4]
The film experienced another sharp drop in collections on Monday as it was a working day and netted around ₹7.50 crore (US$900,000), but managed to take its five-day total to ₹69.50 crore (US$8.3 million).[5] Agneepath grossed ₹6.50 crore (US$780,000) nett on Tuesday and Box Office India predicted that the film would finish somewhere close to ₹115 crore (US$14 million) nett at the end of its run.[6]
Thanks for the headup though. I'll try and keep it as consistent as possible but no one else seems to care about the film because people aren't really as passionate about it as they are with films of other stars. -- Asher Madan 09:48, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

revert in Freenet
editWhile I understand and agree to why you did that revert, please do not bite newbees. The editor used quite bad English, wrote in subjective form, and did not follow the Wikipedia article style. This should mean we respond by informing him on the proper way to edit Wikipedia, not use the vandalism template. Belorn (talk) 22:24, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I invite you back to the AFD discussion and offer that you take a look and the sources so-far added to the article. I agree that as originally nominated you had valid concerns, but they have begun to be addressed and continued improvement is easily do-able. As we now have the involvement of an editor other than the author and now have third-party substantiation, perhaps you might be inclined to withdraw your nomination? World Factoring Yearbook
editI'm leaving this message as you're listed as a current participant of WikiProject Business. I was informed yesterday that the current World Factoring Yearbook (circa £150) is now free for download as an ebook. It's a matter of filling out this form. I'm not sure if you'll find this useful as a reliable source, but I thought I should let you know that it's freely available online. I apologise in advance if this doesn't interest you!
