Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edits because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! ―Susmuffin Talk 23:02, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
Hi. I know you are probably concerned that your recent edits are being reverted and I believe you are owed a proper explanation.
You have been writing that Aurangzeb was one of the few/only individuals to have defeated the EIC. As I said previously, while it is true that he had defeated the Company, the source you used makes no claim of him being the only one to have done so. At Wikipedia, the requirement is to write only what is mentioned in the sources and to not go beyond that. This includes making assumptions as you had done (see WP:STICKTOSOURCE for an extended discussion of this rule). This is the primary reason I had removed your edit.
Further to this, your edit may have been inappropriate for the article lead. The point of a lead is to summarise the content of the article without going into unnecessary specifics, including mentioning individual events (see MOS:LEAD for a more detailed explanation of this). Aurangzeb had fought in dozens of wars throughout his reign, and it doesn't really make sense to mention this single war above all others. I believe that this is the reason that the user Susmuffin had removed your edits, though you would have to contact them to be sure.
I hope you can understand my concerns and feel free to contact me or post a message on the Aurangzeb Talk Page if you want to discuss this further.

- Alivardi. Ok thanks. But I strongly believe that is necessary to mention, since the childs war was the first battle against the britons, and Aurangzeb came victorious. Also I love that picture with the hawk. Regards. Why is your name Alivardi? Is it taken from Alivardi Khan? Are you a Muslim and a Bengali?
- There's actually already a section in the article which discusses Aurangzeb's relations with the English, which includes an overview of Child's War. If you are interested in the war, maybe you'd prefer to focus your edits to that section? I have no problem with you changing the picture and it is still where you left it. And yeah, I am a Bengali Muslim.
Alivardi (talk) 10:17, 13 August 2019 (UTC)- Alivardi Assalamualaikum Wrahmatullah and Eid Mubarak then. Are you west Bengali or Bangladeshi?
