Semi-protect Dictatorship article
editHi, you recently denied the semi-protection for the article Dictatorship. I'd like to know how much IP vandalism is required for the article to be semi-protected. Currently, approx 30 of the last 50 edits were vandalism... that makes about a 60% of the edits. Almost every day there is an event like that, that makes the article hard to maintain. It is as well a subject which will not change in the future, and the sources IPs are from pretty much everywhere varying by times according to the mood of the news. Also you left no message in the article Talk page about your decision. Regards! Alchaemist (talk) 03:52, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- There's no set minimum. I looked at the frequency -- over time -- of the edits. It would have been one thing if those vandalism edits were over the course of a day or two. Here, they were over several weeks. Also, the recent IP edits have been legitimate edits. The disruption is far from unmanageable. -- tariqabjotu 04:12, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Phosphors
editThanks much for your help :)
I tried to start a section about how the phosphors work, but did not really understand the principles enough yet. Could you eventually please elaborate on the lattice-level functionality of phosphors? E.g. why neither yttrium(III) nor europium(III) oxides act as phosphors, but Y2O3:Eu is a lovely red one? --Shaddack (talk) 16:39, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- I am not used to this kind of "chat" :) in wikipedia, sorry for not replying faster. Unfortunately, my contributions are rather from an electronics hobbyist point of view (and you may add a bit of obsession on CRTs), so I really cannot deal with physics at that low level in an academic way, enough to make a useful contribution. Sorry. Now, I also believe in the "be bold" policy, so if you have enough expertise on the subject, then proceed, at least in the discussion page first to see if there is feedback. Regards! About your ship article
editYou could ask an administrator to move it to the correct title, instead of asking for deletion. Abce2 (talk) 17:48, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Yes, i realize of that, but I had already created the correct one. Thanks anyway! Alchaemist (talk) 18:29, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
