Brzeg

Thank you for creating articles on the Dukes of Brzeg. Do note that the city's name is Brzeg, not Brieg (which is a Germanization). Hi! I also have a problem with Jan Kropidło. See on the caption in the photo on the right. There is "Ioanes Cropidlo". In Polish "kropidło" means aspergillum - an instmunent used to sprinkle holy water. I've checked this word in a Polish-Latin dictionary. In Latin "kropidło" is "aspergillum" or "aspersorium", so Cropidlo isn't Latin word. A. Liedke (page 14) wrote that duke Jan was called "Kropidło" by people from Poland. Stanisław A. Sroka in the biography of Jan Kropidło in the book called "Piastowie" wrote that duke Jan was called "Kropidło" due to the thick hair. In the website genealogy.euweb.cz there is Jan Kropidło as "F1. Duke Johann Kropidlo of Oppeln, Archbishop of Gnesen, *1360/4 +1421" (link). We should write articles according to professional literature. We haven't make an original research. So in this situation (I don't have the access to English books) I suggest to use the original Polish by-name "Kropidło".

Silesian Piasts

Hi, I noted that you translated many articles about the Silesian Piasts. Great work, thanks a lot! What I noticed however is that you use the Polish names and naming conventions. Though the Silesian Piasts were of Polish descent they were also independent rulers since the early 13th century in period of transition and later, althouth no princes of the Empire, Germanized and part of the HRE. I'm not sure how the Wiki naming convention handle such cases, but IMHO at least for rulers after ~1300 the names should follow the German naming conventions (example: Henry VI the Good vs. Henry VI (Silesia)). A mystery

I have recently been working on the expansion of Elisabeth of Poland Her husband, Charles I of Hungary married three times, his first wife was Maria of Bytom ( the one you helped expand), second was Beatrix of Luxembourg and thirdly was Elisabeth of Poland. Charles had two daughters as you remember, Katherine and Elisabeth. Do you know anything more about whom the mother of the girls could be? It's a real mystery! English will improve with usage. A lot of this early Polish history is quite speculative. Different historians have come to different conclusions and have written many volumes about their conclusions. Dukes of Silesia

Hi. I changed the names of some Silesian dukes since their duchies weren't Polish but part of Bohemia and the HRE, and the dukes and their dominions were Germanized. I think the given names should be English (WP:UE, WP:NCROY), the names of the duchies and towns after 1350 should be German (Naming conflict: Dealing with historical contexts) and we shouldn't use the Polish naming conventions (George II the Pious vs. George II of Brieg) for people outside of Poland.
