A tag has been placed on ChemAxon, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article is a repost of either already posted material, or of material that was previously deleted in a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how ChemAxon is different from all other articles, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:ChemAxon saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we ask you to follow these instructions.
Please make sure to always check deletion logs before creating new pages. Thanks, Danski14 00:00, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
I see you recreated the article again? Unfortunately, you cannot do this. If you want to try to get the article created, you will have to bring it though deletion review. Otherwise, re-creating deleted pages is considered vandalism. I also suggest you read up on notability criteria under WP:NOTE and take a look at What Wikipedia is Not Danski14 19:46, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
You make a good point in mentioning that some other chemical corporations have articles. However, Is this corporation as large or as important as those? If I remember, it only had a few employees (<100). Also, there were no existing links to previous wikipedia articles. For more information, see Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) If you think it is notable, and feel like you can right a well-sourced and unbiased article on the company, then you will have to go through deletion review. I don't really know whats involved, so I can't really help you there. Danski14 21:03, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Regarding your complaint, presumably about the Chemaxon article. The recent tags added to that article are not for speedy deletion - they are to indicate that cleanup and more sources should be done. By themselves, the tags don't put the article in danger of deletion. But other secondary sources and material (not related to the company) should be added to the article. See WP:V, WP:NPOV, WP:RS, etc. 65.95.178.2 01:33, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
About the article you started
editHello,
I stumbled across your article about Chemaxon, and as far as the tag the above editor put on that it sounds like advertising, I certainly have seen much worse. In fact, I thought your article was a very good start. But it's just a start.
Are there any newspaper articles or business journal articles about this company or any of its products? If so, you would make the article look more legimate if you sited outside sources. Another problem with the article is that nothing else in Wikipedia links to it. Is there a way to legimately put references to Chemaxon in other wikipedia articles, like the ones you listed in the "See also" section? I hope your article survives this time! Happy editing. Oh, and another thing. You need to add some categories. For me, categories were the hardest thing to figure out and since I know nothing about your product and frankly my brain starts to hurt when I try to figure out computer programming stuff, I could not help you out there. However, I can point you in the direction of Wikipedia's vast list of categories. Place Category:Categories in the search box for a complete listing. Also, look at Wikipedia articles about products similar to this one and see what categories they use. To see how to use the correct mark-up language for categories, hit the edit button in an another article and scroll to the bottom to see how it's done. Cynrin 02:03, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Alex Allardyce. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:ChemAxon logo.gif) was found at the following location: User:Alex Allardyce/ChemAxon. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 20:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
I have declined the "speedy" deletion, and let me know if it gets tagged for speedy deletion again. But if it's tagged for WP:AfD, which is a 7-day deletion discussion, there's not a lot I can do unless you find (preferably) newspaper, magazine, journal or book references (or their online versions) that establish the notability of your product.
