Battle of Central Plains
Nice work on the Battle of Central Plains article. If you can cite your sources, we will be able to feature the article under the "Did you know" section on the main page. --Jiang 02:14, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Ditto -- Nice work on the Battle of Central Plains article. However, wouldn't "Central Plains War" be a better English translation? See Talk:Battle of Central Plains for reasons. Also, I recently created stubs for Zhili-Anhui War, First and Second Zhili-Fengtian Wars, and the Anhui, Zhili, and Fengtian cliques if you have info you can add. -AjaxSmack 17:47, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Glad to see those articles created, but I thing we need something like warlord clique (perhaps a subarticle of clique, which seems too concentrated on Mean Girls concepts) to unify the articles under that subject as a topical overview, which then would fall under history of the Republic of China (but not warlord era, since they overlapped). I'm awarding you this barnstar for your excellent work. Do continue...I noticed your editing pace picked up recently, so all the better. I'm also curious and amazed about your quadralingualism + dialect use ... the Singapore government's ideal Singaporean is bilingual (but doesn't use dialects, thanks to the democidal Speak Mandarin Campaign) but even so I'm struggling in my non-English subjects. As a side note Edit summaries will also help the editing process! Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 02:13, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Enjoyed the article, and it was a great expansion! (was a little late by DYK rules, but I stretched the rules a bit). Thanks for the contribution -- Samir धर्म 11:59, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Sun Tienying translation
Here is what I think its saying:
In 1933, with Feng Yuxiang in Chahar province he advocated opposition to Japan and Chiang Kai-shek's Central government. The national government feared Sun Tienying' cooperation, but Sun Diangying was not willing to be involved in the conflict, hoping to get control of the northwest of China, therefore the government sent its army to open up wasteland in Qinghai, thus stationing troops that also supported the northwestern Ma Chiachun to give them the strength to cope with Sun Tienying.
In 1934, in January, the 60,000 man army of Sun Tienying, wanted from Suiyuan to enter the western province of Ningxia. The three Ma Chusun, Ma Buqing in Ningxia, president Ma Hungkuei, his younger brother Ma Hungpin was saved by the forces of the National army in Qinghai. Both sides battled for three months, Sun Tienying was defeated, his army was in retreat to Suiyuan when it unexpectedly was attacked by the Shanxi-Suiyuan area armed forces and forced to disarm. Sun Tienying went into seclusion in Taiyuan, Shanxi. (both paragraphs awaiting edit) Asiaticus 19:17, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello! I notice you sign with an image. Images are not really liked as a signature, as the guideline reads. I would suggest you to change it to not include an image, as it will likely get some comments to your talk page. There are enough editors to make it clear image in signatures are not really welcomed. I'd like to apologize for the general tone of this AfD. I've just noticed a reasonable-looking objection to your DYK nomination for this article, so I thought I might run this by you and see what you think: One of the problems cited in the objection is a lack of referencing and the other one is the style in which it's written. I'm more than willing to copyedit it if you can find some more sources for the article (I'd have a go myself, but should in fact be doing research for assignments), which should cut down on the amount of work required to get what seems to be a pretty interesting event on the main page. I don't know how to Afd but if you'd Afd for me with the reason of "Dead software, website, and company" I'll appreciate it. Mapletip 17:53, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- I think it would have been more productive to explain to mapletip how the article deletion process works, rather than do the steps your self. As you said, it is unlikely that there will be a consensus to delete since this article doesn't violate any of the WP guidelines. The AfD process tends to burn a bunch of time for many people. I had typed in a message to mapletip's user page when I found that you had already modified the page. This is just for future reference, not much can be done now that wouldn't make things even more time consuming. Wrs1864 18:30, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Your comment at Tango's RFA
Hi AQu01rius. In your reply to Mike1 at Tango's RFA, you said that you weren't sure whether his comment was a support or not. In fact, even if he leaves no comments, there are several ways to find out. First, you can check which column he left his !vote in. 99% of the time, non-indented comments in the support column are in favor of the candidate becoming a sysop. Secondly, you can check the history and see what they used for an edit summary. In this case, Mike's edit summary specifically said "support". And last of all, you can check whether he updated the tally at the top of the page; in fact, he did, adding a number in the first space of the tally (in fact, he added two, because the first person forgot.) You can safely assume that Mike meant to support Tango. Picaroon9288 02:15, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Thank for you reformating the WikiProject page. It's a task I was just starting, and finding that I did not have the time for. It looks much better. I'll be doing some more organizational work on dividing the task list into subpages and categories. Also the main page will have more content added to it:
- Five Point Plan
- Major Pending Tasks for each category:
- People
- Arts and Culture
- Buildings and Structures
- etc. etc.
While its good to have the tasks on a subpage, it would be ideal to have the main page detail each subpage so users can read and have a sense what is going on with each without having to go into each subpage. Much of how the article Vancouver is set up and then having detailed subpages such as the History of Vancouver. I also have several other sections I want to add that our WikiProject is missing. Eventually I would like to see the Colaboration of the Month phased out as it has been proven to be in-effective, nor stable enough to get articles done in a month's time. Hopefully our Five Point Plan will be its replacement. Other additions such as a Show Case will be finer details. This project was based off of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Ottawa but as our project has evolved to become more elaborate, we should be moving closer in the direction of the Wikipedia:WikiProject_London. I hope this helps give you an idea for where I would like to see the project go. Perhaps this will not take too long to implement. Mkdwtalk 09:00, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Vancouver's been nominated to be a featured article. Sure could use your support. Mkdwtalk 10:02, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Will you please respond to my objections at Portal talk:China to your changes? --Ideogram 18:59, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hello! Ideogram has requested that I protect the pages in question, however it seems to me that the better solution would be to invite you to the discussion page in question and ask you to both have a chat about the changes before making any, since there's tension around these changes and it seems a mite disruptive to go through the hassle of protecting a dozen pages just because two editors can't come to some agreement or compromise. It'd be the nice thing to do, you know. :) ~Kylu (u|t) 02:30, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

IRC chat for WikiProject Taiwan
Hey, why don't we set up an IRC channel for the WikiProject? It'd be great way to collaborate in real time. It's also a better way to discuss disputed articles and find out a solution on how we can fix the problem. 99% of the time, arguments are just misunderstandings that end up wasting all of our time in the form of edit warring. If we can discuss the issues in real time, the quicker it is that we can all agree on constructive editing. Heck! We could even delegate sections of articles to each individual or team to research and write. — Nrtm81 16:44, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

- "Vandalism is any addition, deletion, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia." My description of the deletion debate has no impact on the talk page.
- You realize that, for the first three years of Wikipedia, there was no such thing as these silly pastel boxes littering the talk pages to inform you about previous deletion discussions. When an article passed VfD someone mentioned it on the talk page like any other sort of article-related news. There is no standard format that VfD notices need to follow. New England Patriots
lol, well, it isn't live(the game was yesterday), but I think giving a scoring summary adds a nice touch. Now I just gotta do the summaries for the 14 games before that one, the one next week, the ones for the playoffs, and gameday conditions for each game plus maybe a few more pictures and some outside commentary and it'll be featured! Easy, huh? :-)
Thanks for the input on the review. Just H 04:59, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- I counted 10 or 20 on Featured Articles, including New England Patriots, so it seems this would just an extention of that. Questions
Hey, I was wondering if I could ask you two more questions.
- How many article talk pages do you think will be significant enough for rfa status?
- I really can't get into the Village Pump or project talk pages so far, alot of stuff that is done on talk pages elsewhere is done on regular pages in project space it seems.
I feel a little like Captain Ahab here with adminship, I don't think i'll be able to edit 100% until i'm able to get the monkey of passing an rfa off my back. Just H 19:15, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Re What You Said
My apologies if it seems disjointed here, but I figured it'd be better to reply here.
In regards to the talk pages, I generally don't talk unless I have something to say right there and then -- it's not in my nature to go out looking for conversations on talk pages, I only use them when I think there's an edit that needs some fleshing out from the community.
And in regards to project space talk page edits, the talk pages of them seem almost redundant since what is done in talk pages elsewhere is done right on the project space for the most part. Same thing with the Village Pump.
I don't know how to put it any better, but I guess i'm just an editing machine -- if there is something that needs discussion with another user where there may be conflict, I kind of go into "automated phone message mode", like here with Sir Nick[2].
In short, I can break up conflict with the best of them, but it's not in my nature to go around looking for it.
Is that a killer to my chances of being an admin? Just H 23:45, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Thinking Alot
I've been thinking alot whether to do a self-nom or wait a while more. I am jumping at the bit for the rfa, but I know self-noms can hurt you from what i've seen. I was wondering if I could get your opinion on that too.Just H 23:46, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Chinese maps
Hi AQu01rius, I'm not sure in what way I can be of help to you. I have finished general maps of the Qin, Han, and Ming dynasties. All the other maps I have done are not really complete, and should be edited or deleted. Originally, I was intending to create a series of maps from around 1000 BCE to the present day (one for every 300 years or so) to show the settlement of Han Chinese, but work commitments always got in the way. If someone has the technical expertise and time to do that, I'd be willing to provide creative input. Yeu Ninje 03:26, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
Man, I do appreciate your help. Thanks for tagging the photo for me. I'd be pretty unsure of how to do it, actually. Anyways, I know I gotta learn how to do my own thing around here and hope I can count on you guys if I have more questions. Bye

Article is still not fixed Palana New Airport
Hello, I noticed you answered my helpme. The Palana New Airport is still not fixed. I tried to reset it but it still does not read correctly. Could you please edit the article or refer to someone else who can? Ronbo76 01:12, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Template Chinese Civil War
The Chinese Civil War template is by no means redundant. Take a look at it almost all the people and events are only in this template but not in the warlords. Its true very few of the events and characters do overlap but thats simply historical, but take a look at it its almost completely new events and people. Your welcome to make changes. --Gary123 Apply now, exciting opportunities available at Continental Op Detective Agency! 17:26, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Article: First Counter Encirclement Campaign
First Counter Encirclement Campaign was redirected to another page that has not been created. Why was it done in the first place? Specter01010 03:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Hey AQu01rius, this looks great! One quibble though at the end. You write "capturing more than 12,000 guns and artilleries." I assume the "guns" are rifles and the "artilleries" are artillery peices or guns which is the usual shorthand expression for some artillery peices.
BTW are you going to do similar articles for the second and third encirclement campaigns?Asiaticus 07:48, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
