Orphaned non-free media (Image:Krizis zhanra logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Krizis zhanra logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Paid Editing

Hi, Under Wikipedia Terms of Use, any editor who is paid to create content on Wikipedia must declare that they are being paid to create that content per WP:PAID and WP:DISCLOSURE, or risk being permanently blocked. Hi @Alex shifrin: Dont know. Generally we need to check per WP Terms of Use, if the contributions give an indicate. There is no soft way of doing it. Indeed there is a whole of templates available, so I guess this is the softest way. Personally I don't mind paid editing, after all it did create Michelangelo's frescoes in the Sistine chapel, the Gutenberg bible, the Mona Lisa and other innumerable art works, in the world, but the consensus on here is that paid editing is a bad thing, and WP Terms of Use state that your must declare it. Generally if you do not declare and you create a whole bunch of content, it generally gets deleted after the person gets blocked. scope_creep^Talk 09:43, 16 June 2019 (UTC)

With all due respect, this isn't what an advertising agency does. Wiki edits tend to organized by PR firms or publicists. We (ad agencies) make creative ads for things like TV. I'm president at an ad shop, and editing Wiki pages isn't what I would do there. It's just something that's fascinated me, so I've tried my hand at it. Obviously not very well given the dumpster fire that my efforts to create a few pages has netted. At first, it was rewarding to see this published. Now I'm wondering why bother when arguably cited content can get unilaterally yanked anytime without proper debate on it - AFTER it was published. Alex shifrin (talk) 02:02, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
• Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

Yeah hi there. That image was replaced by the current image on his profile page. Please feel free to delete. In fact, as I recall, I wasn't able to provide sufficient proof of copyright ownership at the time and I assumed that it had alraedy been deleted. - Alex

Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Alex shifrin! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

Also, may I ask how I appear to have a close connection to this subject? I live in Toronto, Canada. I wrote an article about corrosive capital, a new political term that didn't seem to be up on Wiki yet. After writing about corrosive capital, I noticed that there was nothing about CIPE either. I've gone through this, and I've made a few minor changes. However, CIPE is an NGO of note: It's one of the 4 institutions that comprise the National Endowment for Democracy - and if you look at the NED Wiki page, you'll see all 4 (including CIPE) listed out. The only one of them which didn't have its own page was CIPE. So I created it. It's cross-referenced across Wiki, yet it didn't exist. I've returned it back to the page, which I will note, was already reviewed and published. Let's please discuss better citations on the page and not on a 3+ month waiting list draft space. Thanks.
