Mozilla Developer Network
editHi AlexandraSandu. I'm removing some of your edits on Mozilla Developer Network as they are not inline with Wikipedia's policies and standards. I've mentioned why the changes were made in my edit summary (History page), but I wanted to go into more detail here.
Specifically, I'm removing external links in the body of the article (see WP:EL for info), peacock/promotional language WP:PEACOCK and text that explains what HTML5 and Javascript are. If you visit HTML5 and Javascript, you'll see that they've gone into quite a bit of detail already, including Mozilla's involvement. For the External Links, you'll see that I've converted most into of these from links that go outside of Wikipedia into links that go to Wikipedia articles.
If you feel that your edits should be kept in light of the above justification for removing them, please start a conversation on the Talk:Mozilla Developer Network page before reverting my latest edit so we can reach a consensus and avoid an edit war. As you're a student, please check out Wikipedia:Training/For students/Bold, revert, discuss for info on a suggested process. Thanks, Stesmo (talk) 20:26, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
- AlexandraSandu, I've reverted your edits again for the above reason as well as for a new reason below. Stesmo (talk) 18:24, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
Copyright Violation
editYour addition to Mozilla Developer Network has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Stesmo (talk) 18:24, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
Talkback
editMessage added 21:47, 9 October 2014 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
- I've also copied my answer to my Talk page, if you'd prefer to continue the conversation there and not on the Article's Talk page. Thanks, Stesmo (talk) 21:56, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:ExtremeProject.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:ExtremeProject.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.
If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.
Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Church Talk 19:30, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
