Welcome to Wikipedia!
editMy name is Sonia, and I'm one of the Wikipedia Online Ambassadors, a group of experienced Wikipedians who offer mentorship to newcomers. You don't need to read anything; you can just jump right in and try to improve Wikipedia. If you need help, you can talk with us right now or leave me a message on my user talk page.
Right now, your first step is to select a mentor from the table on your course page, and that person will help you through the process of working on your project, and dealing with any issues you come across.
Here are some links that you may like to read through:
If you need any help or want extra opinions or ideas, do feel free to ask or email me. I'm also available if you would like to be mentored by me. Thanks for joining us, and happy editing! sonia♫ 07:21, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Some thoughts
editI've had a look at the article you mentioned. It would be great if you contributed to that article. I did research a few notable American women writers who do not have an article. If you do not desire to use one as a subject, please suggest them as possible to others in your group. Mabel Louise Robinson, Catherine Besterman, Mary E. Bradley Lane, or Nancy Gardner Prince are some examples I found. My76Strat 05:12, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
