Aircraft include gyrocopters (and even balloons)

Aeroplanes (airplanes) are what you probably have in mind. A list of aircraft legitimately includes gyrocopters. Paul Beardsell 18:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Re:How to cross-wiki images?

Carlos Pellegrini.

Good news for you: since all the images at the Spanish wikipedia are placed in commons:. there is no need to cross reference them, you just use them! Just be careful to change Imagen with Image.

A note though on the naming of the articles. Except for provincial capitals, the default convention is to name cities and towns with their name only. If there is an ambiguity (e.i. Carlos Pellegrini is also a former-president), then you add the Province's name after a comma: Carlos Pellegrini, Santa Fe.

If you wish, you can use the City Templates we commonly use in Argentine cities; check Rosario for the full use of the templates.

Don't hassitate to contact me if you have any other doubts. Good wiking, Mariano(t/c) 07:12, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 22:29, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Photo Matching Service

Thought you might want to know about this, it has the same goals as Wikipedia:WikiProject Photography, but is better organized. --Gphototalk 19:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

You sure those are dead and not just temporarily unavailable? When I made the page a short time ago they were valid and responding. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 13:10, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

I just verified that the links DO work, and have restored them. --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 13:19, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Then they may have been off-line or unreachable for a while. I did test them several times. Thanks! Alexf(t/c) 09:39, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

re:Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia

Sep, existio. Pero tene en cuenta que fue un loco que se autoproclamo rey, y que lo sacaron corriendo al poco tiempo. Lee bien el articulo, creo que llega en 1860, y en 1878 ya moria, pobre, en francia. --Mariano(t/c) 03:59, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Re:Federalisation

Hi Alex. Just wanted to tell you that Federalisation is actually not a spelling mistake, but the British English version of the United States Federalization. This site has a good explanation of the differences between them. though both are accepted in Wikipedia, it is usually prefered to use the one more connected to the article's topic Manual of style. Our's (Buenos Aires related) could at first use either, but it is important to be consistent throughout the article. MOF:spelling. I personally prefer British for Argentina related articles, since we have historically more connections to the UK (wars, football, etc.).

I'm not actually complaining about the move, because I know that our good friend google says Federalisation is wrong; I just wanted to inform you of the existence of these two WikiArticles. Thanks, and good wiking, --Mariano(t/c) 12:12, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Charles Saatchi

Regarding the Charles Saatchi page.

I do not consider my addition vandalism, but a fair explanation of Charles Saatchi's cultural legacy.

Can you review Davidka?

I've just done a major overhaul of the Davidka article. I noticed that you were editing it simultaneously with me (in fact, you caused me an edit conflict! :) ) Accordingly, I thought that you would be a good person to ask to review the article for me.

In particular, I would like for someone else to remove {{Importance}} tag if they feel that my work is adequate.

Also, please note my comments on the Discussion page about the update to the {{Unreferenced}} tag.

TIA! --Eliyahu S Talk 00:34, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for looking at the article and your kind words. I incorporated your suggestion about "incredibly", which I seem to have missed when I saw that you moved the other tags to the top. Also, I provided a citation for the atomic weapons story.
My original question remains, though. Do you think that the {{Importance}} tag can be removed? If so, could you please do it? Thanks. --Eliyahu S Talk 01:00, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks again. Now I'll be able to sleep.   Good night! --Eliyahu S Talk 01:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Angel Di María

Di María has been confirmed as a Benfica player. I did get the references wrong, but I've corrected them already. Thank you for the heads up.

Hi, I reverted your WP:AIV request. WP:AIV is for reporting vandals. For protection requests see WP:RPP Thanks! SLSB talk ER 17:18, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Argentine football

Right,

I've started work on building the project page, (I've just assumed that I will get enough support) but I'm clueless about tagging and assessment (I just create and improve articles) we need something like this Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Football in England articles by quality statistics. I'm also going to need some help with designing a logo. You can see what I've done so far here: User:King of the North East/WPAF. I think it would be best if we get most of the components designed before we launch the project, what do you think? regards King of the North East 23:38, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

WPAF looks very good so far. Good job! -- Alexf(t/c) 23:41, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure about whether non-Argentines should be included, my gut feeling is yes because there are certain players Arsenio Erico and Enzo Francescoli for example who despite being non-Argentine contributed a great deal to Argentine football. The same would count for Ryan Giggs in English league football. King of the North East 23:49, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Ive launched Wikipedia:WikiProject Argentine football its not completely set up, it needs work on the assesment tools, I've asked for help on that. Feel free to add your signature and edit the page. King of the North East 19:16, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Cheers for your help on WP:ArF so far, do you know anything about running bots? That kind of knowledge would be really useful for the project. King of the North East 22:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
We need a bot to insert |Argentina=yes into the {{football}} template (found on the talk pages) on all the articles covered by the project, it could be done manually but it would take some poor sod weeks of mundane labour to do it. It needs to be done for several reasons, the best being, so that we can keep track of how many decent articles we really have in the project and get an improvement drive going on. King of the North East 23:01, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

{{fact}}

Hey, the only reason I removed them was because they add the pages to a non-existent category of Unsourced articles as of July 28, 2007. Usually the date parameter of {{fact}} is used in order to add the month so {{fact|date=July 2007}} and then the category the page will be put into Unsourced articles as of July 2007, an existing category. Personally I just use {{fact}} and then within the day Smackbot goes over the article and changes my {{fact}} tag to {{fact|date=Month Year}}. By the way, nice job monitoring football articles. :) Yonatan talk 14:47, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

New players

Hi, nice work on the Cristian Lucchetti article, just a couple of things, if he has previously played for a fairly big club with a category:??????? footballers don't forget to include that, if he has played for a relatively minor team you can put him in (or create) the Notable former players section. Also remember to put the article into Wikipedia:Wikiproject Argentine football/New articles. Keep up the good work. King of the North East 23:39, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

My alleged vandalism

I have seen accounts in which dogs tethered to Eskimos' sleds have been picked off and eaten by a hungry polar bear. Do you have any question about the ability of any bear to kill dogs? Or humans? Dogs and polar bears are similarly swift, and dogs have great senses, so it is likely that a dog would get away if it knew of a polar bear.

Polar bears are apparently opportunistic predators -- like other canids (including dogs) -- and I have identified some other predators as killers of dogs.

If you wish to state that my inclusions are irrelevant, then such is your choice. But vandalism? That is an insult. I know what vandalism is (nonsense, racial slurs, sick jokes, pointless attention seeking, sub-adult content) and I have deleted or reverted much of it myself. --Paul from Michigan 00:10, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I do not contend that dogs are a major part of any polar bear's diet. Sled dogs usually have an armed human with them, and any polar bear is wise to avoid sled dogs because they rightly associate them with armed humans, the most dangerous predators that any creature could ever face.

It might be unpleasant to think of someone's beloved dog as food for some other creature -- but mu intent is to warn people to keep their beloved pets protected from such creatures as bears, big cats, hyenas, crocodilians, and giant snakes. --Paul from Michigan 06:13, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Nery Castillo

"Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted."

What???

My friend Alexf, Nery Castillo is not any more player of Olympiacos. The Greek team agreed with Shaktar Donestk to sale him for €15mil! On Sunday night when I edited Castillo's article, Nery was on a plane flying to Ukraine to sing with Shaktar. So, don't call the truth "vandalism"! Thanks -User:Sxpl 20:57, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Infobox parameter name changes

I'm not sure where you got the Infobox's empty syntax for Bernal, Argentina that you created today, but some of the parameter names have been deprecated. Hence, are no longer in the code at {{Infobox Settlement}} (aka Infobox City) and will not work anymore. Please click the infobox settlement link to see all the parameter names. Thanks—MJCdetroit 17:44, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

I had just seen your edits to the new Bernal page and was trying to figure out how could I have copied something so wrong. It is funny. I took it from Template:Infobox Settlement this morning, copying and pasting from the example at the bottom of the page, that used to show a city in California. It was an easy to follow example. Now I see that right after I got the copy you changed it to a new one on Detroit. It's funny timing, isn't it? Thanks for the work and the heads up. I'll refer to this new one in the future. -- Alexf(t/c) 18:16, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

There is an empty syntax that can be copied on {{Infobox Settlement}} too. Good luck. —MJCdetroit 13:25, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Christian Diaz

This player moved to Arsenal de Sarandi this summer (as indicated in the Players out section of the Huracan Article). Could I suggest that you try and work from more than one source of info on a player, that Huracan website for example doesnt have the place of birth, career statistics or previous clubs as well as the fact that it hasnt been properly updated. You could try a google search for [Player Name] [club name] and required info ie [Fecha nacimiento] (birth date) [Lugar nacimiento] (place of birth) [Altura] (height) Some of the players that you have created articles on are of negligable importance, one substitute appearance in the 2nd division is enough to pass WP:Notability, but there are hundreds of title winning players, Primera Division topscorers and Argentina international players including Argentine World Cup players that are probably more deserving of articles. Keep up the hard work though. Regards King of the North East 12:53, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Will do. Thanks. -- Alexf(t/c) 12:55, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Lucho Gonzalez

"Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Lucho Gonzalez. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Thank you. -- Alexf(t/c)"

The sources were at the bottom of the page and they are reliable ones, i have now added them next to the related points in the text, and the reason I put the information there is because I have seen it done on many other player pages, so why is it acceptable on those, but not on this particular one? Updating current squads

Hello again,

I've been updating the current squads and club templates, this is a good source of info Futbol Pasion. It is not 100% accurate but very good nonetheless, have a look at the transferencias section. The transfer window hasnt closed yet, but the season has already started so I've been working thu the primera clubs in apha order updating the current squad, player in/out section, club template and individual player articles, maybe if you could work thru in reverse alpha order we could meet in the middle? What do you think? Kind regards King of the North East 21:15, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Good idea. Although I won't have as much time this week as I did the previous couple (busy at work) I'll do as much as I can in reverse order. -- Alexf(t/c) 22:19, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
I see you've started with Velez already, I'm supposed to do some work sometimes n' all, and I'm off to a sunny place with no computers soon. I'm doing as much as I can b4 I go, Keep up the good work, King of the North East 00:02, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Desabato

Why do you ask for reference in the Leandro Desábato article, when I already included a "see also" link where the entire incident is described in full detail? elpincha 21:14, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Wesley Sneijder

Alex, why did you revert my contribution to Wesley Sneijder? The news came from the official Ajax site, link: http://www.ajax.nl/web/show/id=154417/contentid=63753 (in Dutch). Regards, Peter, 82.93.64.3 19:11, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Maxi López

Alex, you are too quick, to rule my edit off. I always have the most up-to-date and accurate info on Russian football. And I insist that there was no vandalism and no unconstructiveness either, as you can see the same editions are now made by this spanish guy. khait 21:17, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
