i made this username many many years ago, as it was the same as my username elsewhere.

i have made several valuable edits and have never violated a policy. i have taken time out of my day to request a useful edit. please do not punish me, if there is some way to change my name i will gladly change it.

i am not an editor of the calibre my name suggests.

i made this username several years ago, only as it was the same as my username elsewhere. i completely understand that it is inappropriate and would gladly like to change it.

i’ve never engaged in any disinforming or malicious edits. quite the opposite in fact, i have only used my account to improve pages where i have noticed mistakes. i have also contributed financially to the wikipedia community.

i understand my chosen username did not reflect my intent, but please look and find that i have never otherwise violated a policy or acted in a way that deserves reprimand. in fact i drew attention to my account this evening while taking time out of my day to suggest what i believe is a much needed edit. i ask that i not be punished, but rather if there is a way to change my name please let me change it. i will gladly continue to contribute to the wikipedia community in what small way i can.

hi 331dot! thanks for helping me to change my username. i was actually quite shocked by the intervention yesterday. while i appreciate my former username cannot be considered appropriate, no attempt was made to discuss it with me. i had just made a legitimate request for a much needed edit on the page of former Prince Andrew Duke of York, who had his titles stripped from him yesterday in the UK. i felt (i believe reasonably) that this should be reflected on the wikipedia entry, and submitted an edit request to a more established editor (extended confirmed i believe) to that effect. then all of a sudden i was completely blocked. i doubt the block was politically motivated but it certainly came about very suddenly. i would enormously appreciate being reinstated as apart from that i am aware of no offence given. certainly none meant. if i made an error elsewhere i would really appreciate knowing what it was, so that if my editing privileges are reinstated i might avoid committing them again

331dot It was more or less just the username, this is typically the kind of immature "gross out" username we see from schoolkid vandals, but the subject area of a possible sex offender on top of that didn't help. i understand. just for the record, from what you say, sounds like we are in fact on the same page about said alleged sex offender. this pos’ noble attributes were officially stripped and i don’t think he should still be listed as prince anything duke of whatever. i’m sorry again to have prompted a bad reaction. This "titles and styles" stuff can be confusing, but it is my understanding that he is banned from being called "his royal highness" but is still very much a prince and the Duke of York. It's more of a cosmetic thing that allows the royal family to let him fend for himself instead of relying on the crown to defend him. At least that's my understanding of it.
