Hello Allen.Managment. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Allen.Managment. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Allen.Managment|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Your username gives the impression that you are being paid to manage individuals' Wikipedia articles. New User

edit

Good Day, I am a new user/contributor to Wikipedia. I am not a paid contributor or working for compensation for my contribution. The edits i have made were done in an effort to provide a fairly good interesting Wikipedia article as well as to provide references and links to support the article. I did not know prior to my submission all that was required and tried to learn and understand all the coding etc that was required. The username, is more in line with information management and contribution. Sorry for the confusion. Allen.Managment (talk) 17:49, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

The photograph you've uploaded to the article on Olaf Blackwood is named File:Olaf Studio Session.jpg, implying that the photograph was taken during a studio recording session. This would lead one to believe you have a close association with the topic of the article and that your edits could be seen to be promotional editing. I do not believe you are merely editing Wikipedia to provide a "fairly good interesting Wikipedia article" but rather editing to promote Olaf Blackwood. All of your edits over several years are to promote this topic. -- Longhair\talk 23:18, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Allen.Managment. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Olaf Blackwood, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 23:06, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, as you did at Olaf Blackwood. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

I have read the and understand the terms of use and paid editing disclosure requirements. As i have stated, i am not compensated or paid in anyway for the edits that i made. Whilst my user name as i had explained is more in line with information curation/managment when i created the user name it wasn not to imply that i represent a company that is proviing edits for renumneration. the edits that i have made and contrubutions to the olaf blackwood page was forged out of an artist who has been under the radar but has had a very interesting infulence on pop music in addition to his story. All the information can be found online and i tried to ensure that i provided references from various sources to corroberate the information in order to verify the crdibility of the page. If you look at the time of the endits as well, it more or less happened with the release of th Spice album 10 to which in the album credits he wrote on a significant portion of the album, causing me to look on his page and update as such. In updating i also found outher songs on Genius lyrics that was added to fill out missing information and the formatting linkin and reference edits were done as well. as to his photograph that was given to my by a friend who said i had permission to use it, other photos that i had uploaded and were subsiqently deleleted were images that i had found online not knowing (at the tiem) couldnt be used. Again, none of the information that i had added is promotional and it is all publicily available i am just putting it in ONE place for referernce for those interested. thank you for your time and consideration

Decline reason:

Based on your request here, I think that you were being honest when you labeled the photo as your own work, and as such are not being honest here. Even if it's true that you got the photo from a friend, it is still a conflict of interest. Maybe you can convince someone else to unblock you, but not me at this time. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:04, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
