Team viewer

edit

Hi, I see you're interested in teamviwer. Maybe we can work together to improve this article. Do you know of any reviews of this product or other write ups about the company in the trade or general press? Also, out of interest, do you work for Teamviewer? Yours, Verbal chat 07:31, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Verbal,
sounds great. TeamViewer was rated in a lot of German IT magazines but it quite lacks english sources. Nevertheless it is so wide spread that I will have a look today to find neutral third party references.

Thanks for your help. And yes I admitt it frankly that I´m directly from TeamViewer. The reason for the Wikipedia entry is that our users told us to edit the TeamViewer page as a lot of other not so widely spread tools for remote assistance are mentioned. The article comparison of remote desktop software tipped the scale:)

I would be glad if you could help provide an informative article without the notion of an advertisement. Feel free to delete what you think might sound too bloomy!
Ok, no problem - just be aware of the WP:COI policy. Basically, don't remove criticisms yourself, ask someone else to have a look (like me!) and discuss on the article talk page. I have used TV but I don't think I've seen any reviews, but I'll look through some archives soon. I'd be interested in some information on the privacy aspects and how the addressing system works (a computer keeps the same address even if on a different network - snazzy, but are there any privacy/tracking implications). I think some limited use of German sources is ok, but I'm not too familiar with those guidelines. All the best, Verbal chat 08:17, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

By the way, so long as it's framed correctly, basic facts about Teamviewer can be sourced to the company website. Just avoid press releases or stuff like "teamviewer is the best (ref: teamviewer)". Something like "works on Mac/Vista/Linux" can be sourced to the company directly. Claims should be framed as such, eg "TV claims it uses 258 qubit quantum cryptography". Verbal chat 08:30, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I inserted some references of what I wrote on TeamViewer. Great to hear that you are using TeamViewer privately, I will also publish information about the privacy and the unique IDs TeamViewer is creating. Thanks for reviewing the article once again and for the welcome-cookies :-)! Altalavista
Also a good idea - edit some unrelated pages you're interested in to get some experiance. Verbal chat 09:52, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Verbal, what do you think about the TeamViewer entry by now? Should contain enough information and citations. Ready to remove the two boxes on the top? Altalavista

Thanks for uploading File:Teamviewer.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 13:12, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think I dealt with this. Verbal chat 13:25, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article Airbackup has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable and appears promotional

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

File permission problem with File:Screenshot of airbackup's client interface.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Screenshot of airbackup's client interface.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:46, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Screenshot of airbackup's client interface.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Screenshot of airbackup's client interface.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:47, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Airbackup

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Airbackup requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 18:33, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of TeamViewer

edit

The article TeamViewer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The vast majority of this article is cited to the subject itself, or to blogs, or retail sites, etc. The only significant RSs are simply used to note that this product has been used for scams. I submit the article is NN and possibly Advertising.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
