There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. I'm really sorry for the promotional links. This is my mistake. I was trying to write about subjects that I have experience in and thought I was being thorough by including links to previously published articles relating to the edits I made. I also apologise for the promotional username. If I could be unblocked I will change this user name and ensure that I only include the relative information and not citations relating back to any companies or entities. I'm really sorry. I'm new to editing so did not realise all of the rules. I will certainly be more careful in the citations which I include in the future. The edits I intend to make in the future will be valid and justified. I really need some assistance in creating a page for the company I work for alternative business funding. I need to create a page that is the same as these pages: iwocca and Funding Circle. (I am unable to provide the links here but can send them upon request.) Obviously I want to do this in the correct way. If some one could explain how this is possible I would really appreciate it.

2) Regrettably, I see no satisfactory answer to this request and nothing to suggest you are here to help us build a free encyclopedia.

Furthermore, I would not be able to agree to the new username you have requested (EditorInChief85) as it might mislead other users into believing that you have a position of authority at Wikipedia.

Guys, I am really trying here! Let me please see if I can once again address your comments / concerns.

1. In regards to the username - There are many many "editorinchief" usernames that I can see. I was in no way at all trying to mislead fellow users. This username was supposed to be tongue in cheek and a play on the fact that users are called "editors" nothing more. However, I have selected a new user name as per your request. I hope this will be ok with you.

2. In relation to your comments around my employer, yes this is no secret that I would like to add further information to any articles relating to Alternative Business Funding. I am not trying to hide this at all. There has been zero deception on this intention. Please have a look at the pages for: Funding Circle - [1] and: Iwoca - [2]. All I want to do is to provide something the same as these other entities. Why would this NOT be ok to do please? I promise you I'm not trying to be obtuse, I genuinely don't understand.

3. If I can just comment on the previous ban. I completely understand that I was banned due to providing too may commercial links and promotional copy. I thought I was being thorough by including links to the sites that I was commenting on in the form of citations. I understand that the copy I wrote was not encyclopaedic enough and the links were pointing back to commercial sites and that this is against the rules of wikipedia unless I can provide a more substantial reason for including them.

4. In relation to your comment around how I intend to use the platform moving forward. In the first instance, as mentioned above I would like to improve the current information around the company Alternative Business Funding. There have been some developments recently from the treasury, the FSA, and Brexit which I believe are noteworthy, important, and need to be documented. 

In the second instance, I want to build up a personal profile on Wikipedia and begin making edits on the subjects of technology, mountain biking, (particularly in the Wye Valley) The village of St Arvans where I live, Shambala festival, Scuba diving (particularly on the Perhentian islands in Malasia) tech entrepreneurship, Venture capitalism to name just a few.

I really do feel I can be an asset to Wikipedia and add some informative and useful content for the platform. The main benfit to myself in wanting to edit the platform is for me to improve my writing skills. I love writing and feel that by researching and then editing articles, I will be able to improve my writing skillset and at the same time improve the wikipedia platform.

I would really appreciate your guidance (kingboyk and Ghmyrtle) as it's clear that you are both extremely knowledgable editors and I'm sure I could learn a great deal from you both. Please don't punish me for being a little bit ignorant in my understanding of Wikipedia rules. I promise you this is purely down to me being new to editing and nothing more sinister. As a compromise, I would be more than happy to run any future edits past either of you before I make them? Ghmyrtle - I tried to message you after my initial edit was removed to ask your advice but by this time I had already been blocked by another user.

The reason you're having trouble getting unblocked is because it sounds like you're here to exploit our free website. We volunteer our time to write encyclopedia articles about topics like the history of World War II. If this is something that you're interested in, you'll be unblocked. If you want to write about yourself or your employer, you won't be unblocked. We are not a free tool to advertise or promote oneself or one's business interests. What we are asking you to do is to volunteer your time in writing about something that is completely unrelated to your business interests. For example, you can write about Blade Runner. Presumably, you would have no conflict of interest involved in that – unless you happen to be Ridley Scott, which seems unlikely. Or you could write about the Swiss Alps. Or maybe the butterfly. There are millions of articles you could write about that aren't financially connected to you. If you can't think of something like that to edit, maybe what you're looking for is an advertisement on a social media website, not a free encyclopedia. Hi there Admins. Can I please get an update on this account block? I have done everything that you have asked of me. I have changed my username which has now been accepted and I have provided evidence of other pages that are written about similar subjects that I plan to write about. Also, one of the edits I made before I was blocked (Severn Bridge status app and removal of previous highways agency website) has been written abut by the BBC and many other reputable news sources. Please see: [1] [2] [3] Please also see the equivalent service provider pages (below) that I plan to emulate for the service provider who was actually instrumental in setting up this service alongside the treasury. @NinjaRobotPirate this is EXACTLY what I want to do. I mentioned above wanting to write about "technology, mountain biking and entrepreneurship" surely this is what you want? Also, you have not commented on the other companies who have been able to edit information about themselves - Iwoca and FundingCircle?? How is it that they are allowed to correct the information about themselves and add to it but I am not allowed to do the same? Isnt this a bit unfair? All I want to do for my employer is ensure that the information about them and the person who founded the company is correct and up to date but this is only the secondary reason for wanting to edit on your platform. Most important to me is building up my profile around the subjects I just mentioned. I want to be a writer one day and feel that editing this platform is a great way for me to hone my writing skills.
