StVO-inspired sign comparison
editAren't you helping me with the StVO-inspired sign comparison? Can you help me please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Barneyuj (talk • contribs) 22:54, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
- They aren't based on the StVO. They're based on the Vienna Convention, and we already have a page for that: Comparison of European road signs. That covers Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, and Chile and Colombia are on my MUTCD page.
- My advice is this: maybe do a comparison of Asian signs instead? That way you can include places like Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand which are more MUTCD based, as well as China which does its own thing, plus Korea, Brunei, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc which are more based on the Vienna Convention.--Amateria1121 (talk) 23:03, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
- Well I'll do a Micro-language comparison called German-Spanish StVO. Okay? So can you help me please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Barneyuj (talk • contribs) 23:37, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
- Why those two specifically? It's pretty narrow, so much so that I'm not even sure it's really in Wiki's scope, if you get me.--Amateria1121 (talk) 23:54, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
- Cause this page is special. There's also a Malay version too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Barneyuj (talk • contribs) 00:00, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
- Can you give me a link to that page? Again, I still do not understand why it's 'special', as you say. The StVO was designed in Germany, and there is no Spanish version, not by that name at least. As far as I am aware, road signs in Spain were designed to conform with the Vienna Convention, not the StVO. As for Latin American signs, they are based on a mix between the American MUTCD and the Vienna Convention.
- According to this image, Malaysia uses yellow diamond warning signs - they're on Google Street View too. If you can find a source and upload them individually to [1], I would be happy to add them to my MUTCD page.--Amateria1121 (talk) 00:18, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

Working on the English comparison of road signs
editAre you still working on the English comparison of road signs?
If you are, it will be complete.
If not, I'll help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.233.62.147 (talk) 12:27, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
- It's just something for me to play around with, that's why it's in my sandbox. I have no intent of making it a regular article. So I don't really need help with it.--Amateria1121 (talk) 19:50, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

World speed limit map
editHi. Can you please update the World Speed Limit map to include 150km/h? Seems like Italy now has roads that fast. Thanks! Oh, also, Sudan should probably be split to include South Sudan.Terrorist96 (talk) 06:37, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Well, the map was designed to show the maximum posted limit, hence why I had Washington at 70 and Nevada at 75, since I don't think either has actually posted 75/80. And I can't find any concrete evidence that any autostrade in Italy actually have a 150 limit, just that it's possible under certain conditions. But if you can find proof i'll go ahead and add it. --Amateria1121 (talk) 18:49, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Someone posted this as the source: LinkTerrorist96 (talk) 19:30, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- And I found this: Link.Terrorist96 (talk) 21:14, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Right, but it still doesn't sound like there are any segments that actually have a posted 150 kph limit, just that it's possible. I also can't find any images of actual signs showing a 150 limit either, which leads me to believe that it hasn't been implemented anywhere. --Amateria1121 (talk) 23:49, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
Sign comparison tables
editHi. I was wondering if you might like to work on comparison tables for Asia and the Americas. I believe we have enough countries available now. Fry1989 eh? 21:27, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
- Well my idea with the MUTCD one was to have a comparison for the other hugely influential style guide (alongside the Vienna Convention in Europe). That's why I haven't really been on board with other comparison tables like the English-speaking one, as much as I might personally like to see them. Though if you have some suggestions please do share. Amateria1121 (talk) 02:28, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
- To me it would be a good idea to do comparison tables by continent. I am just unsure how to go about it. For Asia, I mean we have Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, I'm working on Thailand right now and I have some documents for Vietnam... Creating the table itself is rather easy, but I don't really know what to include beyond that. Both the European and MUTCD articles have lots of extra information about things like fonts, languages, colour differences.
- Maybe after I am done working on the Thai road signs, I can think about it more. Fry1989 eh? 18:00, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
