Image permission for Yoga images
editHi, Ambermarquez31. I saw some of the images you uploaded to Commons such as this one and this one. Most of these images don't have information on the license of the image or permissions for use (as you'll see the tag notes). It looks to me like these images were taken from a website (judging from the resolution and size). Do you know who owns the images and what their copyright status is? If they're not freely licensed they may be deleted, but if they are and information on the license isn't added they will be deleted. You may also be able to add existing Yoga images in your article. Let me know if you need any help. Adam (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:32, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Hi, i thought it said they were freely licensed. Where would i usually find that for the photo? I have the website.
I am removing the photos I found on the website because I thought they were freely licensed but I was incorrect. Ambermarquez31 (talk) 04:23, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
I will be replacing them with my imagesAmbermarquez31 (talk) 04:25, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, Ambermarquez31. It looks like those images are here and here, albeit with different colors. Recoloring an image like that doesn't eliminate the original copyright owner's interest in the image, so we can't release that under a free license either. In this area (with a lot of almost functional but distinct images of poses) I'd say the only thing that can be considered your own work would be something you made in Illustrator or a similar program from scratch. Hi Adam, I did not ever use that website or recolor the photos.. I honestly do not know how to even do that so, I am not sure where those are from. Ambermarquez31 (talk) 00:06, 29 April 2016 (UTC)
- Apart from being the same shapes and style, the images uploaded to commons are tiny--around 6-8kb images, perfect for websites but not the normal output of a program used to create something like that. Where did the images you upload come from? Adam (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:00, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
