Archiving Here's Wikipedia's guide. First move this page - at the top you should so a move option. Then, give the archive a name (e.g. User talk:Ammar shaker/Archive 001, for instance.) If you go back to your talk page (User talk:Ammar shaker), you'll find that it has become a redirect to the archive. Simply edit your talk page to remove the redirect and you can put anything you want there. It is generally nice to include some link to your archive so others can find it. For instance, you'll see that I have the small filing cabinet in the upper left corner. If you'd like it, here is the code:
{| class="infobox"

Of course, you will want to change "User talk:Koavf" to "User talk:Ammar shaker" and you can amend the text however you'd like. Let me know if this is confusing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Koavf (talkcontribs) 19:42, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Behind the name Jeddah

edit

Thank you Ammar for your comment.

In fact I do not see that you got my purpose behind the spelling of the name Juddah. It has been forty years I am researching what the Modern Hebrew has slaughtered in our history as distorted facts. The name of Juddah is only one of my many clues and targets. The Bible scholars write history like they want but they still have a European tongue and that is what I am after: the Modern Hebrew is hiding behind its pronunciation to avoid understanding Arabia. Salomon's Kingdom, no one knows its location with evidence (look out!!), split in two after his death: Judah in the South and Israel in the North. Historians do not say in the North of what or the South of what and it is not logical that it could be Palestine or part of it to be close to each-other. These two kingdoms were far apart. And when they talk about King Josiah "the King of Judah", they confuse the city with the Southern Kingdom. Maybe they are not the same. The problem is among the Bible scholars because they are confused and confusing. The story about Josiah tells exactly who Josiah's parents are: Jedidah and Amon, and yet the real pronunciation is a mystery unless we go to the living language: Arabic. And the story of "Micah's idols" talks about the same Judah. I am certain that it is about the city of Juddah because the harbor city of Laith is involved in these stories.

The conclusion is that Arabia was the capital of wealth and trade and production in the distant past where the Israelites were living as Arabians among Arabs. Every time a foreign invader launched a campaign against the Israelites he deported the main figures in the Arabian society: the rabbis and the rich people, not the entire Israelite population. The proof lies in the story of Josiah who was released by Shalmanassar III the King of Assyria, and returned to Juddah as a king. That was around 695 BC. In other words, the Israelite community used to live in Arabia and their Kingdom was in Arabia until they lost their power and dissolved in the Arabian society who spoke their language. Yes, I propose that Hebrew is the Old Arabic. It evolved through the ages and continued to beautify and crystallize with poetry and Oral tradition until it was different from the shape it had taken in the Israelite temples and scrolls: grammar and pronunciation. The proof is that the Jews at the time of the Prophet spoke Arabic and had purely Arabic names. Bani Kuraydhah, bani Kainukaa', bani Al-Nadir: this is pure Arabic. Hebrew was in the scrolls only.

Please read my proposals about the name of Makkah whose name changed through the ages according to the Rabbis using the Kaabah as a temple: from Beit El, to Hebron to Makkah on the hands of "Micah" whose name should be pronounced Makkah. The Ashkenazi Jews have a European tongue and they are European Slavic, they are not Semites and do not have rights for any claims in Palestine or any where in the Arabian geography. I know that this could mean politics but we cannot talk Bible without touching the modern political landscape of the Region. Very respectfully, Noureddine (talk) 22:58, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Jeddah and Arabien history

edit

Hmm... You live in Jeddah? I just started an article on the Red Sea Mall. You may want to check it and complete some of the facts I missed. Actually I wanted to write more on the architecture but as english is not my native tongue it proved more difficult than I thought. My main interest though is history and the history of building. I have decided to write some more on the historic buildings of Jeddah as long as I am in the city but getting good information seems even more difficult than I had imagined. The Red Sea Mall offered itself as I found some information in the local news and I happened to visit it. Finding reliable information for buildings in the Balad is something else. It starts with the spelling of some of the structures in the latin alphabet through the ages. I would appreciate any help concerning the historic architecture in Jeddah. Is there any wp taskforce for this around? --T.woelk (talk) 15:33, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good but actully they didnt conquer all the UAE land , because they used to recieve an annual zakat from these states. That means Emirs of these small states (Dubai , Jumaira ...etc) have kept in charge. Besides, They have a British protection on their land in that period.  A M M A R  22:28, 28 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Of course you're free to download the map, modify it as you see fit, and re-upload it, if you feel the territory is exaggerated. As you know Ammar, "states" in Arabia back then were not as strong as they are today. Usually, when we say the Saudis conquered an area (during the first or second state), it means that the ruler of the town agrees to pay the zakat and other taxes and to help in military matters. Sometimes the Saudis would appoint their own emir, but often they would confirm the old emirs and send a political officer to accompany the emir. That's why Faisal left Ha'il with Al Rashid and al-Qassim with Al Slaym. During the first state, they left al-Hejaz with Ghalib for a while, and they left al-Hasa and Qatif with Bani Khalid until the Bani Khalid rebelled and they removed them and appointed their own men. In the case of the UAE, the Saudis always had a Nejdi governor in Buraimi who was in charge of Oman and the coast, but perhaps those coastal emirates had more leeway than the other provinces. As for the protection treaty, that was only signed in 1892, after the second state was gone. -- Slacker (talk) 03:33, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Did you check the licsensing info on Commons? You are the original author after all, and I don't want the image to get tagged for copyright violation. -- Slacker (talk) 03:35, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

To help keep link spamming down I suggest shortening the list of external links only to essential links. For North American cities, this typically includes only the city's corporate website, and links to the cities airport, chamber of commerce and tourism websites. Jeddah has many links that might fail external link guidelines so I would suggest cutting out anything that isn't necessary. Articles about schools or media can go into their respective articles. I'd like to know your opinion before making any changes. vıdıoman 01:56, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Before completely deleting anything I suggest to move disputed links to the talk page (still keeping them working) and adding a note explaining why they shouldn't be on the article page. This way you could point to arguments allready made when the links appear on the article page again and those searching for more may wade through the talk pages (like I often do;-). --T.woelk (talk) 07:07, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Museums, Collections, Galleries, Exhibitions and Edutainment

edit

hmmmmm thanks for the barnstar - got to live up to really deserve it ;-) ... I have visited some museums and private collections recently and have wondered how to add them to the existing city articles in a standardized way. In the London, Paris and Berlin article museums are listed under the education, tourism and culture sections. Seeing that the large museums in Saudi Arabia are administered by the "Deputy Ministry of Antiquities & Museums" which in turn is part of the Ministry of Education, I thought that the "Education" section as done in the London article might fit the situation in Saudi Arabia. Then again there are private collections which probably do not stand up to academic standards or exhibitions whos aim and funds are outside of the government educational scope, so the culture section, as in the Berlin article, might be a more general haven for such information. Since you have rewritten some of the articles for the major cities you might have had plans on this - any ideas? Btw the Riyadh article seemed vandalized, you may want to check wether I missed anything --T.woelk (talk) 13:32, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Help would be great

Been busy lately but do hope to spend some time of my last week in KSA on research in Jeddah. I think I would indeed enjoy some help - as I simply have no clue of arabic. I was planning to try and get more citeble info on old and new structures in Jeddah. I thought of asking some tourist guide for help that had invited me inside the Naseef house but the telephone number he gave me seems wrong. I don't know wether I need some permision to publish the fotos I made there, in the museums and of some restricted area mosques or from the inside of mosques. I guess I could use some help there from someone who speaks arabic and knows what the Wikipedia is and its concept of copyright free. That is if you are interested of course. I will be in Jeddah until next wednesday.
