No page with this exact title appears to ever have been created, and I couldn't see any obvious pages with similar titles in my deletion log or your deleted contributions. Are you sure you have the article name right? jimfbleak (talk) 06:41, 24 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, this page is deletable on at least three grounds

  • It is a copyright violation, taken entirely from here. The site says Copyright 2008, and there is no indication that the text is licensed under the GFDL or is public domain. If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article's talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at the talk page with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article talk page.
  • Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at the article talk page with a link to the web page details.
  • Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. ace="chiller">07:35, 14 August 2007 (UTC) After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at the article talk page saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.
  • The article is spam. It is not encyclopaedic and neutral in tone, is full of unsupported claims eg implements high-performance coordination service for distributed applications. It exposes common services - such as naming, configuration management, synchronization, and group services - in a simple interface so you don't have to write them from scratch. You can use it off-the-shelf to implement consensus, group management, leader election, and presence protocols. And you can build on it for your own, specific needs. no references for any of these promotional claims - and the whole article is like that
  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources that it met the notability guidelines.

Hope this helps jimfbleak (talk) 07:00, 25 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:08, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of International Particle Physics Outreach Group

edit

Hello AmritTuladhar,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged International Particle Physics Outreach Group for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
